Conditional Sentence Tipe 1

Conditional sentence tipe 1 digunakan untuk mengekspresikan suatu hal yang sangat
besar kemungkinannya terjadi di waktu yang akan datang jika kita melakukan sesuatu.

Rumus:

1. If + simple present tense, simple future tense

2. Simple future tense + if + simple present tense

Klausa if (kondisi) Klausa utama (hasil/akibat)

If + simple present simple future

If this thing happens that thing will happen.

Sama seperti dalam semua kalimat conditional, urutan klausa tidaklah tetap. Anda mungkin harus
menyesuaikan kata ganti (pronoun) dan tanda baca (koma) saat mengubah urutan klausa, tetapi
artinya sama.

Contoh:

1. If you go now , you will arrive there on time.

2. You will arrive there on time if you go now.

3. I will buy a new bike if I pass the exam.

Simple future tense Simple present tense

4. If I pass the exam, I will buy a new bike.

 KETERANGAN:

If = seandainya
Will = akan
Simple present tense= kalimat simple present
Simple future tense = kalimat simple future (ditandai dengan adanya kata “will” yang
artinya akan)
Conditional sentence ada beberapa tipe, kita akan belajar yang tipe 1

Fungsi

Type 1 conditional merujuk ke kondisi yang mungkin terjadi dan kemungkinan hasilnya.
Kalimat-kalimat ini berdasarkan fakta dan digunakan untuk membuat pernyataan
tentang dunia nyata dan situasi tertentu. Kita sering menggunakan kalimat-kalimat
seperti ini untuk memberikan peringatan. Dalam kalimat type 1 conditional, waktunya
adalah masa kini atau masa depan dan situasinya adalah nyata.

Contoh

 If I have time, I'll finish that letter.

 What will you do if you miss the plane?
 Nobody will notice if you make a mistake.

Penggunaan Modal (might, should, can, must, have, need, should, dll)

Dalam kalimat type 1 conditional, Anda juga dapat menggunakan modal dalam klausa utama
dan bukan future tense untuk menyatakan tingkat kepastian, izin, atau rekomendasi mengenai
hasil atau akibat akhir.

Contoh

 If you drop that glass, it might break.

 I may finish that letter if I have time.
 If he calls you, you should go.
 If you buy my school supplies for me, I will be able to go to the park.

Might: kemungkinan
Should: seharusnya
Can: dapat
Must: harus
Have: punya
Need: perlu
