1. Definisi : Descriptive text adalah teks yang

berfungsi untuk mendeskripsikan tempat, benda,
atau orang .
2. Secara lengkap bisa dijelaskan sebagai berikut:
- A text which says what a person or a thing is like.
The purpose is to describe and reveal a particular
person, place, or thing
- A text which lists the characteristics of something
- Attributes of a thing
- Describing or characterized by description,
specifically.

Generally, the main function of a descriptive text is to
describe an object. Specifically, a descriptive text has
these following functions:
1. Giving information about a particular object by
describing its features dan special
characteristics;
2. Giving information about a particular object by
describing its physical attributes, behavior, functions,
etc.

suatu objek yang ingin dideskripsikan. Identification berfungsi untuk
memperkenalkan kepada pembaca tentang objek yang akan kita jelaskan, sebelum
kita memberitahu tentang lebih rinci mengenai objek tersebut pada paragraf
selanjutnya.

while feeding fish in the lake, even taking pictures with amazing results because here provides photo

admission.

My mother's name is Khodijah. She was born 49 years ago. She is short, but not too short. She is little fat. And she is
old. She has got short white straight hair. She has got brown skin. She is beautiful. Her hand is so soft, the hand that
have taught me to be kind person. She never stops to support me. She always tells me not to give up so easily. She
always gives me some fine solutions when I have some problems. The important thing about her is she never
complains. That is why I never reject her willing.

Definition

• Comparison Degree merupakan istilah

dalam grammar Bahasa Inggris untuk menunjukkan
perbandingan. Dalam Comparison
Degree, adjective (kata sifat) atau adverb (kata
keterangan) akan mengalami perubahan bentuk
sesuai dengan tingkatan perbandingannya. Oleh karena
itu, Comparison Degree bisa juga disebut sebagai
Tingkatan Perbandingan.
Function

Comparison Degree digunakan ketika hendak membandingkan satu hal dengan hal

yang lain.

Contoh simple : Dalam 1 keluarga ada 3 anak

1. Positive Degree
Pada positive degree, kedua hal yang dibandingkan berada di level yang sama atau
sebanding, oleh karena itu digunakan as adjective/adverb as. Misalnya, “You are as
pretty as her.” memiliki arti kamu sama cantiknya dengan dia.

Contoh : You are as smart as her, dina is as beutiful as her mom, He is as tall as his
uncle.
2. Comparative degree
This compares two things to show which has the lesser or greater degree of the quality. 
Contoh : Dina is taller than Rico,

3. Superlative Degree
This compares more than two things to show which has the least or greatest.
• Contoh : Rina is the youngest kids in her family, Lake Toba is the largest lake in Asia.

of comparison:
