Nowadays Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) is a social issue that threatens
religious life, family resilience, and human survival because it goes against human nature.
The spread of LGBT will have a significant negative effect on the growth and development
of children. Parents as the first and primary educators in family play a very important
role in protecting children from LGBT behavior by providing sex education. The problem
formulation of this study is how to teach sex education for children in family and how
parents play their roles in anticipating LGBT. The parents’ roles in anticipating children
from LGBT is by providing sex education in accordance with the age and stage of their
physical, psychological, and social development. Sex education from parents guarantees a
better process of continuous education, in contrast to outside sex education and information
that is often unaccountable and partial. The roles of parents in sex education for children
include: (1) the role of cooperation between parents; (2) evaluators in sex education; (3)
companion; (4) educators; and (5) observers in sex education.
