Lihat saja Depresi Besar tahun 1929 meluluh lantakkan ekonomi
dunia, kemudian kasus Subprime Mortgage satu negara di 2008 yaitu AS menggerogoti
perekonomian sampai ke Indonesia. Laissez-Faire tidak pernah relevan.
Invisible hand in this case is a social benefit that appears unintentionally as a result of
individual action. This idea is a strong idea in economics because if there is a perfect
competition market, the pursuit of individual self-interest will promote the welfare of
society as a whole, almost as if the individual was led by an invisible hand to do so.
In a laissez-faire view, the state's obligation is not to intervene to stabilize the distribution of
wealth or to make a prosperous country to protect its people from poverty, but to rely on

donations and the market system. Laissez Faire also stated that the government must not
give special rights in business. In addition, the late Adam also wanted the state to minimize
taxes, because taxes were considered only successful in raising the cost of living.
So, just imagine if this is used by our country. Tax contributions are still the largest in the
state budget. In the years to come, understanding laissez-faire or the like may never be
achieved. Inevitably the state is responsible for the national and international economic
impacts. Just look at the Great Depression in 1929 devastating the world economy, then the
case of one country Subprime Mortgage in 2008 namely the US undermined the economy to
Indonesia. Laissez-Faire is never relevant.
