 Kultur darah
• Pemeriksaan mikrobiologi untuk melihat
ada/tidaknya mikroorganisme dalam darah

• Mikroorganisme dapat berupa bakteri

(aerob, anaerob, fastidius) dan jamur

• Dapat digunakan juga untuk deteksi Salmonella

(dahulu menggunakan gaal kultur)

→ Perlu media yang cukup sensitif utk deteksi

 Kenapa kultur darah penting ?

• Infeksi pada sistem peredaran darah dapat

mengarah ke sepsis
• Penanganan sepsis merupakan tantangan tersendiri
• Diagnosis dini sangat berpengaruh terhadap
keselamatan pasien (patient outcome)
• Harus dilakukan secara A.S.A.P

• Pada kondisi (klinis) yang tepat

• Waktu sampling yang tepat

• Cara sampling yang benar

 Kapan Kultur Darah dilakukan ?
Kondisi • Dicurigai terjadinya bakteriemia/fungiemia atau
klinis
septikemia dilihat dari tanda klinis dan laboratories

Waktu • Sesaat sebelum demam

• A.S.A.P setelah ada tanda-tanda klinis
• Sebelum pemberian terapi antibiotika
• Setelah 3 hari terapi antibiotika dihentikan
• Jika tidak memungkinkan, lakukan pengambilan
segera sebelum pemberian dosis berikutnya
• Direkomendasi pengambilan 2-3 set (2 botol/set)
pada periode waktu tertentu
• Khusus untuk diagnosa typhoid diambil pada
demam minggu pertama

bioMérieux recommends that bottles should be collected, delivered to laboratory and entered
into the Instrument as soon as possible. Inoculated culture bottles delayed in entry should be
maintained at room temperature until they can be loaded into the incubator.

3D

• Positive in Bact/Alert and Smear, but not growth in routine

subculture media > may require by specialized Media
• Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria meningitidis, and
Neisseria gonorrhoeae may be sensitive to the anticoagulant
SPS
• Infrequently, if there is a very high number of whiteblood
cells present in the sample, the BacT/ALERT may indicate a
culture bottle positive
