ABSTRAK

Kecerdasan emosional atau yang sering disebut Emotional Intelligence (EI)


sebagai himpunan bagian dari kecerdasan sosial yang melibatkan kemampuan
memantau perasaan sosial yang melibatkan kemampuan pada orang lain,
memilah-milah semuanya dan menggunakan informasi ini untuk membimbing
pikiran dan tindakan. Kecerdasan emosional salah satunya dapat dipelajari dari
lingkungan keluarga, teman sebaya, lingkungan sekolah dan lingkungan
masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan
tingkat kecerdasan emosional antara siswa SMAN 1 dan Madrasah Aliyah Darul
Ulum YPUI Banda Aceh. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan cross sectional
survey yaitu suatu survei yang dilakukan dengan cara observasi dimana variabel
independent dan dependent dinilai satu kali pada satu waktu. sempel dalam
penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 3 SMAN 1 Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 107
siswa dan siswa kelas 3 Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum YPUI Banda Aceh yang
memiliki jumlah 73 siswa, total dari kedua populasi adalah 236 siswa. Dari
analisis data diketahui siswa SMAN yang memiliki kecerdasan emosional baik
berjumlah 104 siswa, cukup 3siswa dan tidak terdapat siswa yang memiliki
kecerdasan emosional kurang. Sedangkan di Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum YPUI
Banda Aceh siswa yang mimiliki kecerdasan tinggi berjumlah 69 siswa (94,5%)
cukup 4 siswa (5,5%) dan tidak terdapat siswa yang memiliki kecerdasan
emosional yang kurang. Serta tidak terdapat perbedaan kecerdasan emosional
yang signifikan antara siswa SMAN 1 dan Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum YPUI
Banda Aceh.

ABSTRACT

Emotional Intellegence is the ability to indentify and manage your


ownemotions and the emotions of other and use this information to lead the tought
and the action. EI can be learned from famyli,friends,school, and society. The
purpose of this research is to know whether there are difference in the level of EI
among students of sman 1 and Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum YPUI Banda Aceh.
The plan of this research design is a cross sectional survey. In this design, the
collection of data is administered at single point in time from a sample drawn
from a specified population ( lionel nicholas 2008 introduction to psycholog). The
population of this research were students of the third grade in SMAN 1 Banda
Aceh with amounts is 147 students and in Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum YPUI
Banda Aceh amounts is 58 students. The total of this population is 236 students.
From this analysis of the data found that: 1. Students in SMAN 1 Banda Aceh
have a high EI amounts 104 students (97,1%) and have an enough EI amounts 3
students (2,8%) and there are nothing student with low EI, 2. Students In
Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum YPUI Banda Aceh have a high EI amounts 69
students (94,5%) and have students with an enough EI amounts 4 students (5,5%)
and there are nothing student with low EI And the conclusion of this research is
there are nothing significant difference of EI among students in sman1 and
Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum YPUI Banda Aceh.
