argument.
 Social Function
The purpose of an exposition text is to persuade your audience to look at an issue with your
perspective.
 Text Structures
- Thesis: Introduces the topic and shows speaker or writer’s position; Outlines of the
arguments are presented.
- Arguments: Explain the arguments to support the writer’s position. It consists about Point
(states the main paragraph) and Elaboration (develops and supports each point of

The Dangers of Using SMS While Driving
The popularity of mobile devices has had some dangerous consequences. We know that
mobile communications are linked to a significant increase in distracted driving which results in
injury and loss of life.
First, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that in 2010 driver
distraction was the cause of 18 percent of all fatal crashes hence 3,092 people killed and 416,000
people wounded because of that accident.
Moreover, the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute found that text messaging creates a
crash risk 23 times worse than driving while not distracted.
In addition, eleven percent of drivers aged 18 to 20 who were involved in an automobile
accident and survived admitted they were sending or receiving texts when they crashed.
It can be concluded that distracted driving endangers life and property and the current
levels of injury and loss are unacceptable.

favorable than ones who do not.
The above facts prove that everybody needs to learn English if he likes to greet the global era.

Why Exercise is Important?

The majority of us claim that we do not have time for exercise. We feel too busy to do that.

The Unhealthy Fast Food

Fast food nowadays is considered a normal eating venture. People are not just eating out on special
occasions or weekends anymore. It means that all the time they mostly eat fast foods. However is fast food
good for health?
Fast food has its popularity in the 1940’s. Within a few years, fast-food operations popped up
everywhere. With the compelling rise in fast-food restaurants since the 1940’s, oddly it started the rise in
obesity and cancer during that same time period.
Fast food is highly processed with a wide array of additives. To ensure fast food’s low cost, the
fast food products are made with highly-processed ingredients to give it shelf-life, to hold consistency, and
to enhance flavor. Fast food is altered from its original healthy form.
It is not the calories in fast food which damage health and waistline. It is the chemical additives
such as aspartame and MSG (monosodium glutamate). Studies show that the chemical additives lead to
weight and disease issues.
So, there is absolutely nothing nutritional about fast food. Fast food simply feeds hunger and
craving.

The Power of Music in Our Life

Do you agree that music is important in our life? Yes I do, music has certain role completing our
day to day activities. Here are some reasons why music is heard everywhere and anywhere.
Music is a way to express feelings. When we fall in love, the kind of music we’d listen to would
be all about love. When we’re sad, we would go for music that is melancholic in nature and immerse
ourselves in the sadness. When we’re happy, we’d choose songs with happy tunes too.
Song can help to memorize the last experiences. A favorite song is a powerful documentary. People

For example, an elderly woman who couldn’t even remember her husband’s name would remember the

Further, music can unite people for a cause and changes the world. A song with good lyric and
striking deep chord can stimulate the universal feeling of all people. We can see it in the case of the famous
and legendary Michael Jacson's Heal the World. It can arouse humanism of a lot people in this world.
So what would the world be like without music? It would be lonely.

It’s Terrible Not to Prepare for The Exam

How do you study when the test is coming? Do you start preparing for the test weeks or months
before the test or leave things to the last hour? If you start studying weeks or months before the test, it is
great. However, if you study all the material in the last hour or minute, it is not good for you. This is called
cramming.
 Cramming is when students stay up all night until morning to study before a test or finish an
assignment. This habit can lead to negative impacts, the first being that disruptions in the regular sleep
cycle can cause temporary intellectual lapses. For most students, less sleep can make them could not focus
on the class. Additionally, cramming can leave us with memory lapses as well.
Each person has a different sleeping schedule, so some of them often use a stimulant for cramming.
An example stimulant, and the most common, is coffee. While delicious and beneficial, it causes many
problems in the long-term such as Caffeine Intoxication Syndrome, anxiety, panic, and headaches.
To sum up, cramming is not recommended because it disturbs a person’s sleep cycle which causes
temporary intellectual lapses, and using stimulants for cramming gives them a bad effect on their health.
