Sambutlah kehadiran siswa secara otentik, belajar
lah tentang budaya mereka, dan sering lah memberi
pujian dan dorongan.

Komunikasikan tata tertib kelas secara jelas, perkuat


disiplin secara adil dan konsisten, dan lihatlah
keunikan dari setiap peristiwa dalam kelas.

Berlaku lah objektif, jangan menilai, coba lah


memahami perspektif siswa, dan pandang
isu dari beragam perspektif.

Tunjukkan bahwa guru adalah ‘human’, akuilah jika
melakukan kesalahan dan gunakan humor secara tepat.

Minimalkan komunikasi yang mengandalkan ‘power’,


hindari bahasa ‘harus’, jelaskan logika dibalik aturan.

Respon masalah perilaku secara langsung dan segera


karena konflik yang tidak diselesaikan potensial muncul
kembali.

Gunakan pendekatan kolaboratif, berikan kesempatan


siswa untuk memilih, gunakan perspektif ‘kelas kita’
bukan ‘kelas saya’, galilah pendapat dan perspektif
siswa.
