Tujuan Pembelajaran
Melalui Model Cooperative Learning peserta didik diharapkan mampu
mengidentifikasi, menyusun dan mendesain fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur
kebahasaan teks recount tentang kegiatan, kejadian, dan peristiwa, pendek dan
sederhana, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya.

Bahan Ajar
Definition
Recount is a text which retells events or experiences in the past. Its purpose is either
to inform or to entertain the audience. There is no complication among the
participants and that differentiates from narrative. A recount text has an orientation,
a series of events in chronological order, personal remarks on the events, and a
reorientation that “rounds off” the sequence of events.
Social Function
To retell events for the purpose of informing or entertaining.
Structure of Text
Generic Structure of Recount
1. Orientation: Introducing the participants, place and time
2. Events: Describing series of event that happened in the past
3. Reorientation: It is optional. Stating personal comment of the writer to the story
Language Feature
Using the simple past tense, past continuous tense, past perfect tense, and past
perfect continuous tense.
Using temporal sequence, e.g. On Saturday. On Monday, On Sunday
Focus on specific participant, e.g. I (the writer)
Using the conjunctions, such as: then, before, after, etc. Using action verb, e.g.
went, stayed

Movie Ticket
Last week I went to the theatre. It was the only theatre at my town. I had 1 free
ticket to watch a movie. I had no idea about the movie I would like to watch and I did
not know the schedule of thattheatre. So that, I just wanted to come and see if there
was any good movie.
I parked my motorcycle at the parking area and I walked slowly at the hall of the
theatre. I took my ticket on my wallet and go to the information section to ask about
how to use the ticketthat day. Unfortunately, I missed it. The ticket was already
expired 2 days before
I went home and I was very disappointed about that.

My Holiday with My Family at Pangandaran Beach
Last month was New Year holiday. I and my family went to Pangandaran beach
for a vacation. We took a tourism bus to go there. We left at 07.00 o’clock in the
morning. The trip took about four hours and we arrived at around 11.00 am.
As we arrived there, I walked down to the beach. It was a nice sunny day with a
blue sky and a gentle breeze. I saw some seagulls flew around hunting for fish.
The waves there were suitable for swimming, but I didn’t swim because I
couldn’t swim and only play with the water on shallow part. We also didn’t miss
our opportunity here taking some pictures with the background of scenic
Pangandaran beach.
Before we went home, I looked for some beautiful souvenir at the nearby shop
there. Eventually, we went home at about 05.00 pm. It was a memorable
experience for me with my family.

Watching Movie
My sister and I went to see a film last night. It was an American movie called The
Lost Flight. It showed how people can quickly change when they have to look
after themselves in the jungle. It was an interesting film about a plane which
crashed on a small empty island in the Pacific Ocean.
Although the passengers were safe, nobody knew where the plane had crashed.
So the passengers had to learn how to hunt for food in the jungle and how to
catch fish from the sea to eat. After a few weeks, the passengers were eating
raw fish and meat.
After they had been on the island for two months, three of the men made a boat
and sailed away to find help. But their boat sank and they drowned.
The film ended without saying whether the passengers were rescued or not. But
my sister and I enjoyed the film.

A Great Trip
I spent my last summer holiday in Seoul, South Korea. I went there with my
family.
On the first day, I was landed at Incheon Airport around 7 AM after a 6 hours
long flight. Then I went to Seoul by train and checked in to the hotel I already
booked. I decided to take a rest for a while.
I spent my last day in Myeongdong and bought some stuffs and souvenirs for
my family and friends. I went to the airport at 3 PM because my flight was at 5
PM. I had a fantastic experience in South Korea and made wonderful memory
with my family. It was a great trip.
