Teks descriptive adalah teks yang menggambarkan tentang sesuatu, seseorang
atau suatu tempat secara spesifik atau terperinci. Gambaran yang akan
digambarkan dalam modul ini meliputi seseorang yang terkenal, tempat yang
terkenal dan sesuatu yang terkenal. Setelah siswa mempelajari materi descriptive
melalui modul ini, diharapkan siswa mampu menggambarkan seseorang yang
terkenal, tempat yang terkenal dan sesuatu yang terkenal dengan tulisan dan lisan.

Siswa diharapkan mampu memahami teks descritive beserta struktur teksnya dan
mampu menuliskan teks descriptive tentang gambaran seseorang, sesuatu dan
suatu tempat.
Borobudur Temple
Borobudur is Hindu – Budhist temple. It was built in the nineth century
under Sailendra dynasty of ancient Mataram kingdom. Borobudur is located in
Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia.
Penjelasan:
1. Paragraf pertama: Identification, menggambarkan sepintas tentang Candi
Borobudur yang akan dideskripsikan sehingga pembaca tidak akan salah
paham tentang candi yang sedang dibicarakan. Bahwa candi yang dimaksud
adalah candi yang bernama Borobudur, yang berlokasi di Magelang, Jawa
Tengah.
2. Paragraf kedua: Description, berisi tentang penjelasan atau deskripsi Candi
Borobudur dengan memaparkan sifat-sifatnya seperti:
– berada di bukit dengan ketinggian 46 meter dan terdiri dari 8 tingkat seperti
teras.
– 5 tingkat pertama berbentuk kotak (square) dan dikelilingin tembok.
– 3 tingkat paling atas berbentuk bulat (circular).

Wayang kulit is one of artistic traditions that grow and develop in Javanese. More
than just a show, wayang kulit was used as a medium
or spiritual perenungan towards the spirit of the gods. Reportedly, the “puppet” is
derived from the word “Hyang”ma, which means towards the power of
spirituality. But, there is also a society that says “puppet” is derived
from the performance techniques rely on shadow (shadow/puppets) on the screen.
Wayang kulit is believed to be the embryos of various types that exist today. This
type of puppet is made from sheets of dried Buffalo skin. In order to become
a puppet of dynamic motion on the right part of his
body is attached using screws made from Buffalo Horn.
Shadow puppets played directly by a narrator called the master mind. The
master mind can’t be played by just anyone. In addition must be expertly playing
the puppet, the story teller must also know the various stories of epics such as the
Ramayana and Mahabrata puppet. The puppeteer first rated
as a noble profession, because the person who became the mastermind is usually
the person who learned, ethical, and courteous.
While playing the puppet, the story teller accompanied by Music sourced
from gamelan music instrument. On the sidelines of the sound of the
gamelan, chanted a verse-speaking of Javanese sung
by the pesinden commonly are women. As a valued tradition of magical arts, the
offerings can be mandatory in every element of the wayang.
Offerings in the form of free-range chicken, coffee, rice,
and other produce, as well as not to forget the smoke of burning incense is always
there in every puppet. But, since many consider these offerings is a redundant, this
latter condition in staging puppet shows are also reserved for the audience in the
form of eating together.
Wayang kulit is the wealth of the archipelago that was born from the
original culture society of Indonesia who loves the arts. Each section in
the puppet has a symbol and a strong philosophical meaning. Moreover, in terms
of contents, puppet stories always taught the manners that are sublime mutual
love and respect, while sometimes inserted social criticism and the role
of funny scenes through goro–goro.

Beaches around the bay are also nesting grounds for two species of sea turtle; the
green sea turtle and the hawksbill turtle. Kiluan has two species of Dolphin, and
they are much easier to spot due to their sheer number. Dolphins can be seen
weaving their way between the waves just 20 minutes from the coast. A variety of
boats can be chartered from the locals to take you out to sea, such as the bercadik-
a small boat that carries a maximum of 3 guests plus 1 guide/boatman.
Sea Turtles can also be seen gliding beneath the surface of the water. As a nesting
ground for turtles, depending on the time of year, visitors can observe the turtles
climbing the beach at night to lay their eggs, or watch as the tiny hatchlings make
the journey back to the ocean.
Famous for their tropical charm, most beaches in Lampung region have for now
managed to retain their natural beauty. Soft white sands followed by sparkling
turquoise waters, and though coral isn’t on the list of Kiluan’s delights, you will
find that it’s underwater park is still abundant in marine life. Swimming and
snorkeling can be done just off the shore, or simply relax on the beach, enjoying
the fresh air and tranquil surroundings with friends and family.
The closest Airport is the Raden Inten II Airport in the city of Bandar Lampung.
This is a domestic only airport, serving Jakarta, Bandung and Batam
flights. Kiluan Bay is located about 80 KM from the city of Bandar Lampung.
Getting to Kiluan will take approximately 3-4 hours across winding and hilly
trails.
Some of the roads are not in good condition, so it is advisable to hire a large car
for the trip. Roads may flood during the rainy season, so visitors should take note
to travel during the dry season between April and September. Despite the roads’
inadequate condition, the calming sights of rolling hills and stretches of green
paddy fields will help take your mind off the bumpy road.

Agnes Monica Muljoto known by her stage name Agnez Mo (born 1 July
1986), is an Indonesian singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in Jakarta, she started
her career in the entertainment industry at the age of six as a child singer. She has
recorded three children’s albums and became a presenter of several children’s
television programs. In 2003, Mo released her first adult album entitled And the
Story Goes, which catapulted her name back in the Indonesian music industry.
Mo’s success in homeland encouraged her to set a target to get a career in the
international music scene. On the second album released in 2005, Whaddup A..
‘?!, she collaborated with American singer Keith Martin for single “I’ll Light a
Candle”. Mo also took part in two Taiwanese drama series, The Hospital and
Romance In The White House.
Mo won the award two years in a row for her performances in the Asia
Song Festival in Seoul, South Korea, in 2008 and 2009. With her third album,
Sacredly Agnezious (2009), she began to get involved as producer and songwriter.
In 2010, she was appointed as a judge on the talent show, Indonesian Idol. She
signed a recording deal with The Cherry Party, a label ventured with Sony Music
Entertainment. Mo has released two international singles, “Coke Bottle”
(featuring Timbaland and T.I.) and “Boy Magnet”.
In addition to commercial success, Mo is a singer with the most number of
awards in Indonesia. She has won dozens of trophies, including 17 Anugerah
Musik Indonesia, 8 Panasonic Awards, 5 Nickelodeon Indonesia Kids’ Choice
Awards, and 4 MTV Indonesia Awards. She achieved a Best Asian Artist Award
on the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards in South Korea. In addition, she has been
trusted to be anti-drug ambassador in Asia as well as the ambassador of MTV
EXIT in combating human trafficking.
