Perawat adalah seorang yang memiliki ijazah minimal dengan pendidikan diploma 3
keperawatan dan memiliki sertifikat uji kompetensi. Perawat itu bisa menjadi pemimpin
pelayanan kesehatan, penyuluh kesehatan, memberi pelayanan kesehatan dan melakukan
riset kesehatan. Perawat biasanya bekerja di Rumah Sakit, puskesmas, dan bisa juga
melakukan praktik mandiri. Kalau perawat bekerja di Rumah Sakit atau puskesmas atau
klinik. Pertama harus memiliki surat izin kerja perawat tetapi kalau perawat buka praktik
mandiri harus memiliki surat izin kerja praktik perawat (SIPP). SIPP ini sangat berguna
untuk masa depan seperti praktik mandiri. Suatu cerita, saya memiliki teman seorang
perawat bernama tuan Joni. Ia telah menjadi perawat selama 20 tahun. Ia bekerja di
Puskesmas dan praktik mandiri perawat. Tuan Joni tinggal di rumah kecil di desa kecil. Ia
tinggal jauh dari pusat perkotaan.
Tuan Joni mempunyai seorang istri dengan 3 anak, 2 anak laki-laki dan satu anak
perempuan. Semua anaknya membutuhkan perhatian dan kasih sayang. Setiap hari
mereka hanya makan dengan lauk sebutir telur. Mereka masih belajar. Anak pertama si
SMA, kedua di SMP, dan ketiga di SD.
Meskipun Tuan Joni bekerja keras siang dan malam dengan membuka praktik, ia
tidak dapat memenuhi kebutuhan keluarganya dengan gaya tinggi. Ia tidak dapat
memberikan anaknya mobil atau sepeda motor baru. Ia tidak pernah mengajak anaknya
tamasya ke luar negeri karena kondisi ekonomi.
Pada saat makan bersama, Tuan Joni selalu meminta pengertian anaknya. Gajih
bulanannya tidak mencukupi untuk satu bulan. Jadi ia harus bekerja lebih dengan
membuka praktik perawat.

The purpose of someone being a nurse is to help the society who is sick or not by give
them a professional healthcare services and fulfill their basic needs.

Lisa : “To become a professional nurse, we must have a good skill of nursing, have
