Solutions of Liquids in Liquids
To consider heats of solution when liquids dissolve in liquids, it’s useful to imagine
step path going from the initial to the final state (see Figure 13.6). We will design
liquid as the solute and the other as the solvent.
Step 1. Expand the solute liquid. First, we imagine that the molecules of one liquid
moved apart just far enough to make room for molecules of the other liquid. B

13.2 | Heats of Solution 59

mendekati konsentrasi jenuhnya, umumnya bersifat endoterm. Oleh karena itu, pada umumnya,

kelarutan suatu zat bertambah besar jika dipanaskan.

mol zat terlarut
m= (12.11)
kg pelarut
nA
XA = (12.12)
nB + nC + . . . + nZ
nA, nB, nC , . . .

uap Paseton 82,0
Xaseton = = = 0,90
Paseton + Pair 82,0 + 9,25
ΔHsoln > 0. Kurva tekanan uap larutan (Plar), dan tekanan parsial masing-masing komponen (PA

disebut penurunan titik beku larutan (ΔTf).
terjadi peningkatan titik didih.
ΔTf = Kf m (12.16)
ΔTb = Kb m (12.17)
tetapan peningkatan titik didih molal.

berikut.
ΔTf 1,06oC
konsentrasi zat terlarut, m = = = 0,209 m
Kf 5,07oC m −1
molzt mzt (g)
m= =
mpel (kg) Mr × mpel (kg)
mzt (g) 5,65 g
Mr = = = 245,8 g/mol
m × mpel (kg) 0,209 m × 0,11 kg

temperatur T (K), sesuai pers 12.18.
Π = MRT (12.18)
tekanan osmosis.

12.6 Sifat Koligatif Larutan Elektrolit
Tetapan penurunan titik beku molal air adalah 1,86 oC/m. Larutan NaCl 1,0 m seharusnya membeku
iNM 18
MgSO4(s) → Mg2+(aq) + SO42−(aq)
awal: 0,10 0 0
terionisasi: −x +x +x
setelah ionisasi: (0,10−x) x x
Setelah ionisasi, di dalam larutan terdapat MgSO4 (0,10−x) m, serta ion Mg2+ dan SO42−
masing-masing x m. Sehingga konsentrasi total zat terlarut (mtotal) setelah ionisasi adalah
(0,10 − x) + x + x = (0,10 + x) m
mtotal dapat dihitung dari penurunan titik beku larutan;
ΔTf = 0oC − (−0,23oC ) = 0,23oC
ΔTf = mtotal × Kf
ΔT f 0,23oC
mtotal = = = 0,12 m
Kf 1,86oC . m −1
Jadi, (0,10 + x) m = 0,12 m dan x = 0,02 m
0,02 m
Derajad ionisasi MgSO4, α = = 0,2 atau 20%.
0,10 m
