Note:
 Ucapan “good morning” digunakan di pagi hari sampai jam 12 siang.
 Ucapan “good afternoon” digunakan di siang hari jam 12 siang sampai jam 6
sore.
 Ucapan “good evening” digunakan di malam hari jam 7 sampai jam 12
malam.
 Kata “Sir,” yang menandakan kita berbicara kepada seorang pria yang lebih
dewasa, dalam hal ini guru laki-laki.
 Untuk guru laki-laki, selain kata “Sir”, kita pun dapat menggunakan kata
“Mister” yang diikuti nama keluarga, misalnya Mr. Markus.
 Sedangkan untuk guru perempuan, kita dapat menggunakan kata “Mam,”
atau “Ms.”
 Dalam penggunaan kata sapaan kepada perempuan yang masih single atau
belum menikah, biasa kita sebut dengan panggilan “Miss.”
 Untuk wanita yang telah menikah kita dapat memanggilnya dengan kata
“Mrs.” Sedangkan untuk wanita yang masih belum diketahui status
pernikahannya, kita dapat menggunakan kata sapaan “Ms”.

 p.m. = post meridiem.

 Pada umumnya penulisan untuk tambahan “s” hanya perlu ditambahkan “s”

berlaku pada simple present tense saja,

 Penggunaan Artikel “a,” dan “an.”

Artikel “a”, dan “an”, mempunyai arti sebuah

 Article “a” digunakan sebelum kata yang dimulai dengan consonant sound
atau huruf konsonan (huruf mati). Contoh: a cat, a motorcycle, a lion
 Artikel “an” digunakan sebelum kata yang dimulai dengan vowel sound atau
huruf vocal (Huruf hifup). Contoh: an apple, an egg, an umbrella

Pronoun adalah kata yang digunakan untuk menggantikan noun (kata benda)
yang dapat berupa orang, benda, hewan, atau tempat.
Pronoun dibagi menjadi 3:
1. Personal Pronoun
Yaitu kata ganti orang. Di dalam kalimat, kata ganti ini digunakan sebagai subjek
dan sebagai objek.

Penjelasan personal Pronoun:

a. Si pembicara, biasa juga kita kenal dengan istilah ‘orang pertama’ atau ‘first
person’. Ada dua bentuk utama untuk first person, yaitu; singular dan plural.
Singular nya adalah I yang berarti saya dan di tulis menggunakan huruf
kapital. Sedangkan bentuk plural nya adalah we yang digunakan ketika si
pembicara lebih dari 1 orang.
b. Orang pertama berbicara kepada orang lain, atau sering disebut second
person. Bentuk singular dan plural nya sama, yaitu; YOU
c. Yang terakhir adalah orang ketiga, teridri dari SHE (bentuk tunggal untuk
wanita), HE (bentuk tunggal untuk pria), dan IT (untuk benda). Sedangkan
bentuk jamaknya adalah THEY (untuk benda hidup maupun mati).

2. Possessive Pronoun
Yaitu kata ganti yang menyatakan milik. Di dalam kalimat pemakaiannya
dapat dibagi menjadi possesive adjectives dan possesive pronouns.
Disebut sebagai possesive adjectives karena kata tersebut berfungsi
sebagai adjectives.

Perbedaan Possessive Adjective dan Possessive Pronoun

 Possessive Adjective digunakan untuk menerangkan siapa yang memiliki suatu


benda tersebut. Dalam hal ini adjective digunakan untuk menerangkan suatu
benda dan biasanya letak dari possessive adjective berada sebelum noun (kata
benda).
Contohnya: Your bag is expensive. My bag is cheap. Kata My merupakan
possessive adjective yang menerangkan suatu benda yakni bag (tas).

 Possessive Pronoun (kata ganti kepunyaan) digunakan untuk


merujuk/menggantikan kata kepemilikan/kepunyaan suatu benda.
Contohnya: Your bag is expensive. Mine is cheap. Kata mine menggantikan “my
bag”.

3. Reflexive Pronoun
Yaitu kata ganti yang menyatakan tentang diri sendiri.

 Demonstrative: this, that, these, those


This, that, these dan those adalah demonstrative determiners yang berfungsi
sebagai kata petunjuk. Determiners itu sendiri adalah kata yang mengawali kata
benda (noun) sehingga sebuah kata benda tersebut menjadi umum atau spesifik
(khusus). Umum dalam artian semua benda atau orang masuk kedalamanya, dan
spesifik artinya hanya benda atau orang tertentu saja yang dimaksudkan oleh
pembicara.

Prase "there is" atau "there are" digunakan untuk mengungkapkan apakah
sesuatu itu ada atau tidak.

1) There is
“there is” selalu diikuti dengan benda tunggal (single) atau jumlah nya hanya satu.
Kata benda tunggal umumnya diikuti artikel a atau an diawal kata
Contoh: a book, a car, a student, a pencil, a bag, a lamp, an umbrella, an apple, an
eye, an hour dan lain sebagainya.
Contoh kalimat:
1. There is a glass on table
2. There is 1 set of kitchen tool in the kitchen
3. There is a dress for your party on the bed!
4. There is an apple in refrigerator
5. There is an owl on the tree

There are pasti selalu diikuti dengan benda yang jumlahnya jamak atau lebih dari
satu. Kata benda berjumlah jamak umumnya ditandai dengan akhiran s atau es di
akhir kata
Contoh: books, students, pencils, cars, boxes, watches dan masih banyak lagi contoh
lainnya.
Namun, ada juga kata benda yang tidak beraturan. Maksudnya adalah tidak semua
benda berjumlah jamak atau lebih dari satu ditandai dengan s atau es di akhir kata.
Contoh: children, mice, deer, geese dan lainnya.
Contoh kalimat:
