JAWABAN :

1. The auction that is more often used by sellers in Indonesia is the British auction because the
betta fish that the seller sells each have a different type and are not the same as each other, so
the seller prefers to use the English auction to get the highest price for selling.

The different of English auction and Dutch auction is :

The English auction also known as the Open ascending price auction, is the most common type of
auction and is relatively easy to operate. In this auction, the auctioneer starts at a certain price.
Participants bid openly with each other. Subsequent bidders must submit a higher price than the
previous bid. When the auctioneer announces the price, the bidders state their bid at the higher
price. The auctioneer then uses that price to submit to other participants. Another participant then
raises the bid price and the auctioneer uses it to offer it back to other participants. This process
continues until no participant is willing to bid further. At this point, the highest bidder is the winner and
pays according to their bid. The buyer may not be a bidder and may not be physically present on
site. They ask representatives to make bids on their behalf. Furthermore, in online auctions,
participants submit bids electronically. The highest bid is publicly displayed so that participants can
use it as the limit for their next bid.
Dutch auction or Open descending price auction begins when the auctioneer begins bidding at a
very high price for a number of similar items. Participants can buy as many units as they want at a
certain price. If the first bidder does not purchase all units, the auctioneer will lower the price for the
remaining units. Then, if the second bidder also doesn't buy the remaining units, the auctioneer
lowers the price again. The process continues and the price continues to fall until all units are bid. Or,
that is until the seller's reservation price is met. Allocation of items according to bid orders. The
highest bidder chooses their item first and gets what he bids on. The next allocation is for the second
bidder and so on.

2. What will happen if the exchange rate continues to fall is :

a. Imports increased but exports decreased. An increase in imports will make the demand for US
dollars increase. Thus, the value of the currency will decrease (fall) because it is continuously
being exchanged into dollars.

b. Debt to other countries is increasing. This foreign debt can make the value of the currency fall
even more, considering that foreign debt is converted into other currencies. That way, it can be
interpreted that there is always a risk from exchange rate movements that occur. Simply put,
foreign debt uses the exchange rate of another country's currency which must be purchased by
exchanging the currency into the other country's currency exchange rate. So, when a currency
weakens against the US dollar, the burden of foreign debt will also increase
c. Inflation is a process of increasing prices in general and is continuous, related to market
mechanisms caused by many factors (especially production, consumption, and distribution).
Inflation is indeed needed to advance the economy, but at a reasonable rate. If it is too large, the
impact will also be detrimental to the country, such as: People's purchasing power becomes weak
because the prices of goods continue to soar and match the value of the currency with the
exchange rate of other countries. However, in addition, the salaries of company employees will
not increase and the currency will be too much circulating in the community, making it less
valuable. This supports the weakening of the value of the currency or makes the currency of a
country automatically fall when compared to other, rarer exchange rates.
d. Higher interest rates. Interest rates are set by the central bank. If the central bank raises interest
rates in the long term, the exchange rate of that country's currency against other countries will
continue to increase. An increase in interest rates can support the strengthening of the currency
which attracts investors to seek high returns for their investment, so that the demand for these
currencies also increases. In simple terms, the interest rate determines the value of a country's
currency. The higher the interest rate, the higher the demand for the currency.
e. Recession or monetary crisis. The economy of a country is strongly influenced by the economy of
other countries in the world. The economy is highly dependent on the United States and China.
Therefore, if one of the countries (the United States or China) experiences an economic crisis, it
will definitely be affected. The magnitude of the impact is not as big as when a country
experiences a domestic economic crisis. However, it can still hamper the economy which leads to
a weakening of the currency value (falling).

3. Market failure is the inability of a market economy to function efficiently in economic growth. A market is
said to fail if it cannot provide the optimal amount of social needs. From here we need a market system
that is collaborated between the government and the free market. Externalities and public goods are two
important elements of market failure that prevent the market system from functioning optimally in
allocating resources efficiently. Externalities cause the market system to include all the benefits and
costs associated with the production or consumption of certain goods and services. External benefits or
costs arise, outside the market system of the goods/services concerned. Demand in the market for
goods and services reflects the benefits obtained by individual consumers of these goods and/or
services, but does not include the purchase of goods/services such as polio immunization injections and
the discovery of x-rays, as well as education/training that provide benefits or satisfaction to society as a
whole. In terms of supply, the producers' decisions do not reflect external costs, namely costs that are a
burden and must be paid by the community as a whole in the form of pollution or environmental
pollution. If supply and demand do not accurately and fully reflect the costs and benefits, the competitive
price system cannot be expected to provide an allocation of resources that satisfies the needs of
society. There are three main elements of market failure, namely:
a. Imperfect (pure) competition. The first best ideal result in the market mechanism is obtained if the
conditions for pure competition are met. This condition or condition is a technical economic term,
which is a situation where farmers, producers, or workers and their total number are relatively large
compared to the market so that each market participant has no individual influence on the market
price. However, if one of them is large enough to be sufficient to influence the market, then there is
an element of an imperfectly competitive market.
b. Externalities. The ideal result by the regulation of the invisible hand also cannot be achieved if
economic activity spills out of the relevant market, which is called an externality. An externality that
usually occurs in cases of air pollution where a factory emits smoke or dust that interferes with the
health or peace and property of the community should be.
c. Public goods. This is an economic activity that provides benefits to the community that cannot be
delegated to private companies for its implementation or implementation. Examples are defense
and security, maintenance of law and order, construction of roads, financial support for research
and development of pure science and public health. The benefits of these goods are widespread

throughout society so that no individual producer or consumer has the stimulus to carry out, then
the government is obliged to provide public goods.

An example of market failure during the pandemic in Indonesia is the health sector, where in this
sector the government has not been able to meet the needs of medical equipment such as the
lack of masks and the lack of personal protective equipment. As a result, a number of hospitals
that are referrals for COVID-19 patients lack masks and ADP, so they only use makeshift
personal protective equipment, some even use personal protective equipment made of plastic
and shaped like personal protective equipment with health protocol standards. A sad news heard
in the ears of the public and caused anxiety in the medical personnel who are fighting at the
forefront against COVID-19.

4. In my opinion, outsourcing is very beneficial for the company but not for the employees. Advantages
of Companies using Outsourcing Services :
a. Reduce recruitment burden. By using the services of an outsourcing service provider, you no
longer need to bother about recruiting new employees.
b. Save on costs for training new employees. Companies that use outsourcing services accept
employees who already have the required skills, so there is no need to do more training.
c. Focus on business. If recruitment and training matters no longer burden the company, then the
company can focus more on running its business. That way, the company will focus more on
other resources to increase efficiency and increase competitiveness. So that production can be
done more simply in a shorter time while reducing operational costs.
d. Another advantage of outsourcing is that it can improve company management because non-
core functions have been outsourced. Another benefit of outsourcing is that the company does
not fully take care of government regulations, because some have been outsourced. So that a
third party will take care of all the necessary regulations, for example related to the environment,
safety, or paying other cost
