A. Tujuan Pembelajaran

Apa kabar kalian semua? Semoga kalian tetap sehat dan bersemangat. Pada Pembelajaran
2 ini, kalian akan melanjutkan belajar tentang ekposisi analitis (analytical exposition) dengan
model discovery learning. Setelah menyelesaikan pembelajaran ini kalian mampu
menangkap makna yang terdapat dalam teks analytical exposition. Tetap Semangat!

Hai siswa-siswa Indonesia yang luar biasa!
Semoga kalian tetap sehat dan semangat ya. Pada aktivitas sebelumnya kalian sudah dapat
membedakan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks analytical exposition.
Selanjutnya pada pembelajaran 2 ini, kalian akan belajar menangkap makna teks analytical
exposition. Kalian akan berlatih memahami isi teks dan mengambil poin-poin pentingnya
sehingga apabila diminta menceritakan ulang atau merangkum kalian bisa melakukannya
dengan baik. Kalian bahkan dapat meringkasnya menjadi sebuah bagan atau infografik.
Untuk melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran ini, apabila memungkinkan kalian dapat bekerja
sama atau berdiskusi dengan teman. Dengan berdiskusi kalian akan dapat bekerja sama dan
mengasah kemampuan berkomunikasi dan berkolaborasi. Ayo, lakukan aktivitas dengan
semangat ya!

Activity 1. (2 JP)
You are going to read an analytical exposition. After you read the text you
are supposed to make a summary. To make the summary, you are provided
with some clues. Complete the clues with the information that you find in the text.

Sugar occurs naturally in all foods that contain carbohydrates, such as fruits and
vegetables, grains, and dairy. Consuming whole foods that contain natural sugar is okay but
problems occur when we consume too much added sugar. Added sugar is sugar that food
manufacturers add to products to increase flavor or extend shelf life. Sugar has a bittersweet
reputation when it comes to health. Consuming too much added sugar can have some bad
impacts for our health.
In a study published in 2014 in JAMA Internal Medicine, Dr. Hu and his colleagues found
an association between a high-sugar diet and a greater risk of dying from heart disease. Over
the course of the 15-year study, people who got 17% to 21% of their calories from added
sugar had a 38% higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease compared with those who
consumed 8% of their calories as added sugar. "Basically, the higher the intake of added
sugar, the higher the risk for heart disease," says Dr. Hu.
Consuming too much added sugar can also raise blood pressure and increase chronic
inflammation, both of which are pathological pathways to heart disease. Excess consumption
of sugar, especially in sugary beverages, also contributes to weight gain. This is why it is
easier for people to add more calories to their regular diet when consuming sugary beverages.
"The effects of added sugar intake — higher blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain,
diabetes, and fatty liver disease — are all linked to an increased risk for heart attack and
stroke," says Dr. Hu. Yet, Dr. Hu warns against being overzealous in your attempts to cut back
on added sugar, as this can backfire.
From the reasons above, the conclusion is that consuming too much added sugar is not
good for our health. It will not only contribute to weight gain but also increase the risk for heart
deseases.

kompleks kepada pembaca agar dapat dipahami dengan lebih mudah dan cepat.
Baiklah anak-anak, perhatikan contoh rancangan infografik berikut ini. Informasi yang kalian
temukan pada teks analytical exposition pada Activity 1 dapat kalian ringkas dengan
memasukkannya poin-poin pentingnya pada infografik berikut ini. Selamat mencoba!
Rancangan infografik tersebut hanya contoh ya. Kalian dapat mengubah atau membuat
desain infografik sendiri sesuai dengan yang kalian sukai. Kalian dapat berdiskusi dan minta

Pengertian Infografik:
Infografik berasal dari kata infographic, yang merupakan singkatan Bahasa Inggris yaitu
information dan graphics. Sesuai namanya, infografik adalah informasi yang disajikan dalam
bentuk teks yang dipadukan dengan elemen visual seperti grafik, gambar, ilustrasi, atau
tipografi.

Manfaat Infografik:
Infografik sangat membantu dalam menjelaskan suatu pembahasan karena penyampaian
informasi secara visual mampu membuat kita lebih cepat paham dibandingkan penjelasan
dengan teks saja. Manfatnya detailnya adalah sebagai berikut:
1. Informasi rumit menjadi lebih enak dipandang
2. Pembaca langsung mengetahui inti pembahasan infografik

Langkah –langkah Membuat Infografik:


1. Menentukan Topik
Persiapkan dulu topik apa yang ingin Kalian sampaikan melalui infografik.
2. Menentukan Target Audiens
Tentukan target pembaca misalnya berdasarkan gender, usia, profesi, latar belakang
pendidikan dan lain-lain. Kemudian, elemen tersebut bisa Kalian jadikan acuan untuk
membuat konsep infografik. Misalnya, apabila Kalian mentargetkan audiens untuk anak
muda maka, Kalian bisa merancang desain yang sekiranya terlihat ringan, namun tetap
menarik.
3. Mengumpulkan Data atau Referensi
Susun konten yang akan dibagikan melalui infografik.
4. Visualisasikan Data ke Infografik
Sajikan data dan informasi yang tepat secara visual.
5. Merancang Grid Layout
Tentukan desain infografik atau grid layout untuk menyeimbangkan tata letak dalam
setiap elemen seperti teks, gambar dan diagram.
6. Menggunakan Template Infografik Ready to Use
Kalian bisa membuat infografik online dengan memakai berbagai platform gratis seperti
Canva, Venngage, Visme.co, Piktochart dan lain-lain.

infographic or you can make it by a manual drawing.

Sports develop the physical as well as mental strength in students. Daily physical exercise is
essential for students because exercise not only helps students to stay healthy, but also helps to
improve their emotional fitness. Here we are discussing the importance of sports in schools.
Sports help students to stay healthy. They help students to increase cardiovascular fitness
and also increase bone density. It also helps to reduce the blood sugar levels, chronic muscular
tension, and strengthen the lungs. Students become more energetic because of sports.
In sports activities, students not only play the role of team players but sometimes they also
have to play the role of leader. Knowing that they have to lead the team will boost their leadership
qualities, and this helps them to become good decision-makers. Being a leader, their duty is not
just to lead the team but also need to boost and appreciate the team.
Sport activities develop cooperation and teamwork. When students are participating in any
sports matches or competitions they need good teamwork, cooperation, and coordination. Learning
these skills during sports activities helps them in various phases of their life, like in academics or
future careers. Students also learn how to cooperate with other teammates to win and enable to
respect the other point of views.
Sports can boost emotional fitness. The physical activities help students refresh their minds
and create happiness in them. Sports also help students stay cheerful and emotionally fit by
reducing stress and mental depression. If students are emotionally and mentally healthy, then it
can also help in their studies and help them achieve their goals. If students increase their interest
in sports activities, they can also make it a passion and even make a career from it.
Sports activities establish the qualities of discipline which help in every field of life. The sports
activities teach the physical mental and tactical training to students. Students should have to follow
the rules and regulations of the game, obey and respect the decision of the coach. By doing this,
students can realize their goals and help them to gain success.
In conclusion, sports are important in schools because it teaches various skills to students. By
doing sports activities students can maintain their fitness and establish some social skills such as
leadership, patience, and team efforts.
