ABSTRAK

Pidato pembina upacara merupakan bagian dari proses pemaparan pengalaman seseorang.
Pengalaman tersebut direalisasikan dalam bentuk proses, partisipan, dan sirkumstan. Selanjutnya,
yang menjadi permasalahan dalam penelitian ini menyangkut bagaimanakah tipe proses
transitivitas, tipe proses transitivitas yang mendominasi pidato pembina upacara, serta relevansi
hasil kajian LFS terhadap pembelajaran wacana di SMP. Oleh karena itu, teori dan metode yang
digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori LFS dan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil
analisis, terdapat 6 (enam) tipe proses transitivitas. Proses mental menempati urutan tertinggi,
diikuti oleh proses verbal dan material, baru proses yang lain. Ini artinya bahwa pidato pembina
upacara lebih banyak berisi pengungkapan rasa, kesan, kenangan seseorang. Hal ini dibuktikan
dengan penggunaan kata-kata seperti: hormati, cintai, banggakan, harapan, dan menyesal. Di
samping itu, pembina upacara melalui pidatonya ingin berbuat, bekerja nyata dan selalu berharap,
berpesan, serta berdoa untuk siswa agar dapat menjadi yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Hal ini
juga dapat dibuktikan dengan penggunaan proses material dan verbal yang mendominasi setelah
proses mental. Adapun hasil kajian penelitian ini sangat relevan dengan pembelajaran wacana di
SMP karena mempermudah guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran wacana. Siswa juga akan lebih
cepat memahami isi dan mengklasifikasi teks dengan cara mencari dominansi proses yang ada
dalam teks tersebut.

Kata kunci yaitu pidato, fungsi pemaparan, dan proses mental.

ABSTRACT

The speech of inspector on school flag -raising ceremony is as part of the explanation
process of someone’s experience. The experience is realized in form process, participant, and
circumstance. Next, what is being problem in this research next is regarding to how the type of
transitivity process, which dominating the speech of the inpector of ceremony, and the relevance
of LFS study concerns with the study of discourse at SMP. Because of the case, the theory and the
method that used in this research is the theory of FLS and qualitative descriptive one. Based on the
analyse results, there are 6 (six) types of transitivity processes. The mental process is at the the
highest rank, then followed by verbal and material process. It means that the speech of inspector
school flag -raising ceremony consists of expressions of feeling, impression, and some one’s
memory. It is applied in some words such as: honourable, love, proud of..., hope, and regret. On
the other hand, an inspector of school flag -raising ceremony through his/her speech wants to do
something, work hard and always wish to suggest, even pray to his/her students to be better than
before. It is shown by using the process of material and verbal which have high numbers after
mental process. This research has relevance with text learning at Junior High School because it
makes easier in teaching and learning processes for the teacher and students. Moreover, students
will understand the content and classify the text easily by finding domination process on the text.
