Patofisiologi
Kebanyakan bermula pada usia dewasa
muda(Puber)
Kelainan pada unit pilosebaceous (wajah ,
leher, dada, pundak, punggung).
Peningkatan hormon androgenmenyebabkan
peningkatan sebum
Faktor Ekstrinsik
Gesekan dan manipulasi
Penggunaan produk kosmetik bersifat oklusif
Penggunaan alat olahraga yang terlalu ketat
Obat obatan:
Steroid
Anti epilepsi
Obat kontrasepsi yang menggandung progestin saja
DIET, STRESS dan ACNE
Terdapat hubungan yang kontrofersial antara
makanan dan jerawat
Diet tinggi lemak dan glikemik indek tinggi
Susu memiliki kandungan hormon androgen

Perawatan kulit dasar
Perlakukan wajah dengan lembut
Bersihkan dengan pembersih wajah yg lembut dengan
kandungan asam salisilat, asam glikolic dan benzoyl
peroksida
Gunakan moisturiser yang non komedogenik

Pilih bentuk sediaan perawatan wajah sesuai tipe

Treatment
Ekstraksi komedo
Acne surgery, a mainstay of therapy in the past used for the
removal of comedones and superficial pustules, aids in
bringing about involution of individual acne lesions.
Even in those patients, the comedones are removed with
greater ease and less trauma if the patient is pretreated
with a topical retinoid for 34 weeks.
inaccurate placement of the comedo extractor may rupture
the follicle and incite an inflammatory reaction.
The Unna type of comedo extractor, which has a broad flat
plate and no narrow sharp edges

PHOTOTHERAPY
Twice-weekly phototherapy sessions are needed 15
minutes duration in face and 45 minute duration in
body (chest and back)
Irradiation of P. acnes with blue light leads to
photoexcitation of endogenous bacterial porphyrins,
singlet oxygen production, and subsequent bacterial
destructionnical improvement
Red light too may be beneficial, as it penetrates deeper
into the dermis and has greater anti-inflammatory
properties, but causes less photoactivation of the
porphyrins.
