Abstract
Dipylidiasis a tapeworm disease in dogs that are zoonotic and are caused by Dipylidium caninum. As a
Definitive hosts are cats and dogs than other Carnivora, while humans are occasional hosts. This worm is
transmitted from infected animals to humans through the intermediate hosts of flea (Ctenocephalides canis,
Ctenocephalides felis and Pulex irritans) or lice (Trichodectes canis). Dypilidiasis incidence in humans is
highly dependent on the incident dyplidiasis on animals and whether there is an intermediate host. Been no
studies of dipylidiasis cases in dogs in Indonesia, although there has been no research on the incidence
dipylidiasis in humans in Indonesia. The potential occurrence of this disease is very possible considering
dogs and cats are common pets in some people.
