ENA (EMERGENCY NURSE ASSOSIATION)

SEJARAH ENA’s

Pada tahun 1968, Anita M. Dorr, RN dan Judith C. Kelleher, RN, bekerja di daerah sisi bagian dari
Amerika Serikat, merasakan kebutuhan bagi perawat yang bekerja dalam perawatan unit darurat dalam
hal sumber daya mereka untuk menerapkan standar-standar keperawatan dan mengembangkan
metode praktik keperawatan darurat yang efektif. Selain itu, mereka ingin terus memberikan program
pendidikan untuk perawat darurat serta menyatukan suara perawat yang bekerja dalam perawatan
darurat. Pada tahun 1970, Ms. Dorr telah membentuk organisasi Perawat Gawat Darurat di daerah
pantai timur dan Ms. Kelleher telah membentuk departemen asosiasi keperawatan darurat
(EDNA=Emergency Departemen Nurse Association) di pantai barat. Kedua kelompok ini bergabung dan
Asosiasi awalnya didirikan sebagai Departemen Darurat Nurses Association (EDNA) di Rochester, New
York pada tanggal 1 Desember 1970. Dan Pertemuan Asosiasi Nasional pertama diadakan di New York
pada tahun 1971.

Pada tahun 1985, nama Asosiasi diubah menjadi Perawat Emergency Association (ENA), mengakui
praktek keperawatan darurat sebagai peran yang spesifik

Awalnya ditujukan untuk memberikan pengajaran dan membentuk jaringan, organisasi ini telah
berkembang menjadi sebah otoritas, bidang advokasi, pelobi, dan suara keperawatan darurat. ENA
memiliki 40.000 anggota dan terus berkembang, dengan anggota perwakilan lebih dari 35 negara di
seluruh dunia.

MISI

Misi dari Asosiasi Perawat Darurat adalah untuk mengadvokasi keselamatan pasien dan keunggulan
dalam praktek keperawatan darurat.

HISTORY ENA’s

In 1968, Anita M. Dorr, RN and Judith C. Kelleher, RN, working in a part of the United States, felt the
need for nurses working in emergency unit care in terms of their resources to implement nursing
standards and develop effective emergency nursing practice methods. In addition, they want to
continue to provide educational programs for emergency nurses and bring together the voices of nurses
working in emergency care. In 1970, Ms. Dorr has formed an Emergency Nurse organization on the east
coast and Ms. Kelleher has formed the department of emergency nursing associations (EDNA =
Emergency Department Nurse Association) on the west coast. The two groups joined and the
Association was initially established as the Emergency Nurses Association Department (EDNA) in
Rochester, New York on December 1, 1970. And the first National Association Meeting was held in New
York in 1971.

In 1985, the name of the Association was changed to the Nurse Emergency Association (ENA),
recognizing emergency nursing practice as a specific role
Originally aimed at teaching and forming networks, this organization has developed into an authority,
advocacy, lobbyist, and emergency nursing voice. ENA has 40,000 members and continues to grow, with
representatives from more than 35 countries around the world.

MISSION

The mission of the Emergency Care Association is to advocate for patient safety and excellence in
emergency nursing practice.
