Abstrak Eko Enzim
This article aims to provide an alternative to one of the problems related to environmental sustainability.
Public awareness in Indonesia to recycle waste is low. Based on the 2018 Indonesian Environmental
Statistics released by BPS, only 1.2% of households recycle their waste. This is of course the biggest
problem in Indonesia, the organic waste that piles up in the TPA has a bad impact on the environment and
the health of the people who live around it. In fact, household waste can be reprocessed into a useful
product, namely eco-enzyme. This enormous change in a century changed the shape of the world, which
is the place where humans live and live. Earth seems increasingly fragile in supporting human life with all
its activities. Developing countries like Indonesia cannot be separated from the impact of changes in the
conditions of the earth. It is a special challenge for Indonesia to find new efforts that are able to meet the
needs of food, energy, transportation, community psychology that can minimize all negative impacts on
the earth. This challenge must be answered by development in various fields with a sustainable approach.
The production of eco-enzyme has a broad impact on the environment globally as well as from an
economic point of view. The planting of sustainable values must be introduced from an early age, one
way is by introducing ESD in schools, with the hope that students will have sustainable values so that
they are able to preserve the natural, social and cultural environment.
