SPOKEN AND WRITTEN LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT

Constructing Classroom Tests

Listening Test

Referring to the previous reviewed lesson plan (or you can choose yourselves any
Kompetensi Dasar from the 2013 Curriculum - Grade 7 to 12), WORK IN PAIRS,

1. Formulate learning objectives as bases for constructing listening test items.


2. Construct listening test items consisting:
a) five items of intensive listening (any types)
b) five items of responsive listening (any types)
c) five items of selective listening (any types)
d) five items of extensive listening (any types)

Example:

Basic Competence (Kompetensi Dasar):

Grade 7:

3.2. mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi transaksional
lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait jati diri, pendek dan
sederhana, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya. Perhatikan unsur kebahasaan dan kosa kata terkait
hubungan keluarga; pronoun (subjective, objective, possessive)

4.2 menyusun teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis sangat pendek dan sederhana yang
melibatkan tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait jati diri, pendek dan sederhana, dengan
memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan yang benar dansesuaikonteks

Learning Materials (Materi Pembelajaran):

1) Fungsi sosial

Berkenalan, memperkenalkan diri sendiri/orang lain.

2) Struktur teks

 -  Memulai
 -  Menanggapi/Negosiasi
 - Menutup

3) Unsur kebahasaan

 -  Sebutan anggota keluarga inti dan yang lebih luas dan orang-orang dekat lainnya
 -  Verba: be, have, go, work, live (dalam simple present tense)
 -   SubjekPronoun:I,You, We, They, He, She, It

 - Kata ganti possessive my, your, his, dsb.


 -  Ucapan, tekanan kata, intonasi, ejaan, tanda baca, dan tulisan tangan

4) Topik

Deskripsi diri sendiri sebagai bagian dari keluarga: ayah, ibu, kakak, adik,yang dapat menumbuhkan
perilaku yang termuat di KI

Note:
The learning objectives can be based on only Knowledge basic competence (KD
pengetahuan) or both Knowledge and Skill basic competence (KD pengetahuan dan
ketrampilan)

3.2.1 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the linguistic features
presented in the transactional text related to self-introduction correctly.
3.2.2 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to analyze the social function of the
presented transactional text related to self-introduction correctly.

Examples of the Listening Test Items:

a) intensive listening – dialogue paraphrase

Item 1:

Test takers hear:


Man : Hi, Maria. My name’s George.
Woman : Nice to meet you, George. Are you American?
Man : No, I’m Canadian.

Test takers read:


a. George lives in the United States.
b. George is American.
c. George comes from Canada.
d. Maria is Canadian

Correct answer: c George comes from Canada.

b) responsive listening – Open-ended response to a question

Item 1:

Test takers hear:


Maria : Where does your mother work, George?
George: My mother works in a hospital. What about your mother? What does she do, Maria?
Maria : My mother is a police officer.

What does George’s mother do?


Test takers read:
a. She’s. a nurse.
b. She’s a teacher.
c. She’s a police woman.
d. She’s fine.

c) selective listening – listening cloze (Identifying Nouns and Adjectives)

Jane: Hi!

Jane: My name is Jane – J-A-N-E. Nice to meet you.
Peter: It’s a pleasure. This is a great party!

Peter: I’m from Amsterdam.
Jane: Amsterdam? Are you German?
Peter: No, I’m not German. I’m Dutch.
Jane: Oh, you’re Dutch. Sorry about that.
Peter: That’s OK. Where are you from?
Jane: I’m from London, but I’m not British.
Peter: No, what are you?
Jane: Well, my parents were Spanish, so I’m Spanish, too.
Peter: That’s very interesting. Spain is a beautiful country.
