E. Contoh Teks Report

 Contoh 1 Tentang Jellyfih secara umum

Jellyfish
Jellyfish are not really fish. They are invertebrate animals. This means that unlike fish or people, they have no
backbones. In fact, they have no bones at all.
Jellyfish have stomachs and mouths, but no heads. They have nervous system for sensing the world around
them, but no brains. They are made almost entirely of water, which is why you can look through them.
Some Jellyfish can glow in darkness by making their own light. The light is made by chemical reaction inside
the Jellyfish. Scientis believe Jellyfish glow for several reasons. For example, they may glow to scare away
predators or to attrack animals they like to eat.
Most Jellyfish live in salt water, apart from a few types that live in fresh water. Jellyfish are found in oceans and
seas all over the world. They live in warm, tropical seas and in icy waters near the North and South poles.

ciri (Characteristics)fisik,dsb.
RINA AGUSTINA – INGGRIS – 201502946427 PPG DALJAB ANGKATAN 2 2020 UHAMKA

Unsur kebahasaan pada keempat teks tersebut salah satunya adalah bahwa teks report menggunakan Simple
Present (Bentuk waktu sekarang). Perhatikan subjek yang digunakan untuk menjelaskannya menggunakan
subjek jamak tunggal. Sehingga dalam penyusunan kalimat nominal selalu menggunakan " are" dan Kata kerja
1, Verb 1 tanpa imbuhan "s/es".

 Contoh 3 Report text tentang Corona Virus

CORONA VIRUS

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. The disease causes respiratory
illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. You can
protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1
meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell.

Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough of sneeze. It
also spreads when a person touches a surface of object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose or
mouth.

People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms. The most common symptoms of
coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Most people (about 80%) recover from the
disease without needing special treatment.

There’s currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus diasease (COVID-19). You can protect yourself and help
prevent spreading the virus to others if you wash your hands regulary for 20 seconds, with soap and water or
alcohol-based hand rub.You cover your nose and mouth with disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough
of sneeze. You avoid close contact (1 meter of 3 feet) with people who are unwell. You stay at home and self-
isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell.

 Contoh 5 Report Text tentang Benda

Bicycle

Bicycles are human powered vehicles, typically featuring pedals, a seat, two wheels and a frame. Before the word
‘bicycle’ become popular (coming from the French word ‘bicyclette’), bikes were typically called ‘velocipedes’.

Bicycles are used for transport, recreation, competitive racing, courier delivery and a range of other tasks.

Bicycles typically use a chain to transmit power to the rear wheel. Some bicycles feature suspension.

This is especially common in mountain bikes where they are used to help deal with the vibration caused by
uneven surfaces.

Road bikes typically have thinner tires inflated to higher pressures than those found on mountain bikes, taking
advantage of the smoother surfaces that roads generally provide.

 Contoh Report Text tentang Bencana Alam

Tsunami in Jepang

On March 11, 2011, a magnitude-9 earthquake shook northeastern Japan, unleashing a savage tsunami.

The earthquake was centered on the seafloor 45 miles (72 kilometers) east of Tohoku, at a depth of 15 miles (24
km) below the surface. The shaking lasted about six minutes.

Residents of Tokyo received a minute of warning before the strong shaking hit the city, thanks to Japan’s
earthquake early warning system.

The country’s stringent seismic building codes and early warning system prevented many deaths from the
earthquake, by stopping high-speed trains and factory assembly lines.

People in Japan also received texted alerts of the earthquake and tsunami warnings on their cellphones.

Less than an hour after the earthquake, the first of many tsunami waves hit Japan’s coastline.

The tsunami waves reached run-up heights (how far the wave surges inland above sea level) of up to 128 feet (39
meters) at Miyako city and traveled inland as far as 6 miles (10 km) in Sendai.

The tsunami flooded an estimated area of approximately 217 square miles (561 square kilometers) in Japan.

The tsunami caused a cooling system failure at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, which resulted in a
level-7 nuclear meltdown and release of radioactive materials.

The electrical power and backup generators were overwhelmed by the tsunami, and the plant lost its cooling
capabilities.

In July 2013, TEPCO, the Tokyo Electric Power Company, admitted that about 300 tons of radioactive water
continues to leak from the plant every day into the Pacific Ocean.
