SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) atau Lokalisasi dan Pemetaan Secara
Bersamaan merupakan sebuah metode yang memungkinkan robot atau kendaraan otonom
memetakan area yang tidak dikenali. SLAM memiliki dua komponen yaitu:
1) Range Measurement
2) Data Extraction
Saat ini trends robot bergerak untuk :
1) Entertaiment, toys
2) Personal, services
3) Medical, surgery
4) Industrial automation (mining, harvesting, dll)
5) Hazardous environtments (space, underwater)

Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics (Runaround, 1942)

1) Robot tidak boleh melukai manusia, atau karena kelambanan, membiarkan manusia
datang untuk menyakiti.
2) Robot harus mematuhi perintah yang diberikan oleh manusia kecuali jika perintah
tersebut akan bertentangan dengan hukum pertama.
3) Robot harus melindungi keberadaanya sendiri selama perlindungan terebut tidak
bertentangan dengan hukum pertama atau kedua.
