pendapat berkenaan cara menguruskannya, katanya: Wahai Rasulullah!

(Islamic endowment), zakat (compulsory alms), sadaqah (donation), and qard hasan (benevolent
Individuals are helping the authorities
to upgrade and maintain the condition of the society like you can throw your hand to help at old
orang kelainan upaya (OKU) sepanjang tahun lepas.
masyarakat.

As we know, waqf is a main important thing in Islam. This is because it is not only following
the sunnah of the prophet, but this waqf is intended to help and assist fellow human beings in
completing their respective needs, regardless of whether they are rich or not. In addition, this waqf
is very much liked by the prophet and is also demanded in Islam. This is because according to the
evidence of the hadith " From Ibn Umar r.a he said: Umar got a piece of land in Khaibar then he
came to the Prophet S.A.W to ask for his opinion on how to manage it, he said: O Messenger of
Allah! I have got a piece of land in Khaibar. I have never acquired a better property than this. His
Majesty said: If you like, keep the land (endow the land) and you donate the benefits. Then Umar
issued alms from the land with the condition that the land could not be sold or bought and inherited
or gifted. Umar gave alms to the poor, relatives and to free slaves as well as for those who fought in
the path of God as well as for provisions for people on the way and as a meal for guests. The person
who takes care of it can eat part of the produce in a good way and can feed his friends in
moderation". The Prophet Muhammad defined the waqf as sadaqah jariyah by hadith narrated by
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him): that The Messenger of Allah said: “When a person
dies, (the reward of) his deeds stop except for three: “A perpetual Şadaqah (Şadaqah Jāriyah),
knowledge from which benefit is (continuously) gained, of a pious child who is invoking Allāh for
him.” Related by Muslim. In the verses of the Qur'an there is also a mention related to waqf which is
mentioned in surah An-Nahl 97 and al-Quraish 1-4 Hadith and this verse of the Qur'an clearly shows
that we need to make waqf to fulfill the welfare and help the public.

In the Islamic economy, waqf consists of several parts including waqf (Islamic endowment),
zakat (compulsory alms), sadaqah (donation), and qard hasan (benevolent loan) and others. waqf
has a great impact on the economy such as eliminating usury and improving community welfare. in
the welfare of waqf, it consists of 3 parts: 1) the worship part: such as mosque expenses and
cleaning. 2) welfare services: such as orphans and establishing hospitals 3) the education sector:
such as building educational institutions. It can be seen in the Ayyubid period (1171-1249) and the
Mamalik period (1249-1517) where waqf can provide many benefits in establishing educational
institutions at that time. In addition, this waqf can also be linked to charitable activities. Islam
teaches us to help people in need in many aspects such as volunteering. Individuals are helping the
authorities to upgrade and maintain the condition of the society like you can throw your hand to
help at old folks home. according to borneo messenger 9/3/2020 the minister of health and people's
welfare Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung said "volunteering is an important asset that needs to be
enhanced to help many people in need" In this regard he said, an effective approach to register,
train and maintain involvement volunteers need to be increased. "The establishment of the Sabah
Welfare Volunteer Center is one of the initiatives implemented to increase the involvement of young
people in welfare volunteer work. "Throughout 2019, a total of 194 volunteers were trained with
various skills and knowledge to strengthen work in the welfare field.", a total of 16 welfare and
community programs were successfully implemented with the support and assistance of around 865
volunteers. According to him, the volunteers involved provided help and social support to a total of
606 senior citizens and 202 people with disabilities (OKU) throughout the last year. It can clearly be
concluded that the waqf provides a lot of help in terms of community welfare such as giving food,
volunteering, establishing health centers and many more. Therefore, it is appropriate for the
government and the people to work together in an effort to increase waqf to stabilize the welfare of
the community.
among the suggestions we can make is to add and expand the Islamic economic sector
whose vision and mission do not run away from the concept of waqf. By creating waqf organizations
where these organizations do their job in fulfilling the welfare of society, such as paying more
attention in the education sector. this organization can provide learning funding assistance to
students, especially students who study the financial and economic sectors. This is because it can
add more students who are skilled in finance and economics, indirectly these students can add and
develop the waqf sector in the Islamic economy in the future.

Our hope is that all parties should join hands in maintaining and further expanding the waqf
sector in the economy and finance in Malaysia.
