rate of cesarean surgery in private hospitals in cities in Indonesia is above 30% and
some even reach 80%. Improving the protein intake of patients who require surgery is
very important to accelerate the healing of surgical wounds. The aim of the study to
determine the relationship between protein intake and wound healing in post-op
sectiocaesrea (SC) patients at the Sembiring hospital in 2020. The method of the
research used descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach, using purposive
sampling technique. The sample reseacrh is 31 people. The instrument research used an
observation sheet. The results of the research using square test statistical test obtained
P-value (0.004) <@ (0.005), so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means
that there is a significant relationship between protein intake and wound healing in post-
op sectioCaesarea patients at the Sembiring Hospital. Patients are expected to
understand the importance of protein intake at the time of delivery because nutrition will
affect post-caesarean wound healing.
