A. RINGKASAN MATERI TENTANG DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

1. Pengertian Descriptive Text

Descriptive Text adalah salah satu jenis text dalam Bahasa Inggris yang
menggambarkan dengan jelas sifat-sifat yang melekat pada sesuatu, baik itu manusia,
hewan, tumbuhan mau pun benda mati. Tujuan dari teks ini adalah memberikan
informasi dengan jelas mengenai objek yang digambarkan kepada pembaca.

2. Ciri-ciri Descriptive Text

 Menggunakan Simple Present Tense
Teks ini menggunakan Simple Present Tense karena kita akan mendiskripsikan
fakta-fakta yang melekat pada suatu objek, dan salah fungsi dari Simple Present
Tense sendiri adalah untuk menunjukkan suatu fakta atau kebenaran.
Misalkan kamu ingin mendeskripsikan mengenai tempat tidur kamu, kamu bisa
menggunakan kalimat:
“The color of my bedroom is blue.”
 Menggunakan banyak kata sifat (adjective).
Karena fungsi dari teks ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi dengan
menggambarkan suatu objek yang dideskripsikan, maka dalam Descriptive Text
akan banyak dijumpai kata sifat (adjective). Contohnya adalah big, small,
colorful, dan lain sebagainya.
 Menggunakan kata kerja penghubung (relating verb).
 Relating verb adalah kata kerja yang memberikan penjelasan kepada kata benda
yang menjadi subjek dari suatu kalimat. Contohnya: is, have, seem, appear, dan
kata kerja lainnya.

3. Generic Structure of Descriptive Text

Descriptive Text mempunyai aturan tersendiri mengenai strukturnya. Berikut ini
adalah generic structure descriptive text:

 Identification
Bagian ini, terletak pada paragraf pertama, tujuannya adalah untuk
mengidentifikasi suatu objek yang ingin dideskripsikan. Indentification berfungsi
untuk memperkenalkan kepada pembaca tentang objek yang akan kita jelaskan,
sebelum kita memberitahu tentang lebih rinci mengenai objek tersebut pada
paragraf selanjutnya.
 Description
Bagian ini, terletak pada paragraf kedua dan seterusnya, berisi tentang sifat-sifat
yang melekat pada sesuatu yang sudah kamu kenalkan pada pembaca pada
paragraf pertama.
B. DESKRIPSI TENTANG DIRI SENDIRI SESUAI KAIDAH PENGEMBANGAN
DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

My Name is Tanti Meylani, my daily life is usually called by the name Tanti, the
meaning of my last name is taken from the month I was born, I also don't understand
why I am called that, now I am 19 years old, my height is 160 cm, my weight is 50 kg so
people often say I'm fat, I have light yellow skin, my favorite colors are Blue and Purple,
my favorite food is Meatballs, I also like watching dramas, especially Korean dramas
and I like Kpop music.
I am from Bombana, born on May 22, 2002 in Kasipute, Bombana, Southeast
Sulawesi, Indonesia. I am the youngest of five children and of course we are a very big
family. My father has retired from his previous job as a Civil Servant and my mother is a
very extraordinary mother who is a housewife. Then my First, second, and fourth
Brothers work as Teachers. and don't forget my third sister is one of my brothers who
continued the work from my father to become a Civil Servant. We are a simple family.
I am currently continuing my undergraduate degree at one of the universities in
Southeast Sulawesi, to be precise, at Halu Oleo University, Kendari City. Before I
became a student I attended one of the secondary schools in my hometown, Bombana.
I've only taken 2 semesters at the moment, and I really want to finish my studies as
soon as possible. I took the Department of History Education, Faculty of Teacher
Training and Education. There are various reasons why I took college in this department
including the encouragement from my father to follow in the footsteps of my brothers to
work as a teacher and obsessed with various issues that after becoming a bachelor of
education or working as a teacher jobs will be easy to get. From a young age I myself
dreamed of becoming a Midwife because of my interest in health and helping mothers
give birth, but that dream stopped when I decided to continue my studies at the Faculty
of History Education.
My goal after completing my study program is to teach in one of the schools
wherever there is a shortage of teaching staff or teachers. I always dreamed of
becoming a professional teacher in the future. I don't have any specific Hobbies myself
but I always enjoy cleaning or cleaning the house.
 I have a quiet and shy nature. My family is often uncomfortable with my shyness,
but I try to reduce my shyness, I am also a person who doesn't really like crowds
because I feel insecure about my physical and abilities, I am often angry and even sad
when my family often makes a fuss about my character. this very shy. I have a trait that
usually makes other people bored of me, namely my quiet nature.
I am very obsessed with someone who has high knowledge and humble, I wish to
have a heart like that. I always hold fast to the life principle that "Patience is strength", I
will also continue to study hard so that my dream of becoming a successful person can
be achieved and don't forget to make my parents happy.
