ABSTRACK
Antimicrobial agents are compounds that have the ability to kill or inhibit the growth of
microorganisms. The effectiveness of antimicrobial agents in spices was tested using the well
and disc diffusion methods in the Laboratory of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Agriculture,
Garut University. The results showed that amoxicillin had the highest effectiveness as an
antimicrobial agent, followed by garlic which was quite effective, and red onion which was
less effective compared to other samples that did not form clear zones. This indicates that
amoxicillin has the strongest antimicrobial activity among the tested samples, while garlic
also showed significant activity, and red onion was less effective as an antimicrobial agent.
