Di dalam mata kuliah ini, mahasiswa akan diperkenalkan pada riset-riset akuntansi keuangan.
Sebagian riset merupakan riset kontemporer, sedangkan sebagian lain merupakan riset-riset atau
pemikiran penting (seminal), yang merupakan fondasi bagi riset-riset akuntansi saat ini. Pembagian
kelompok-kelompok riset tersebut tidaklah atas semua kelompok riset akuntansi keuangan yang
ada. Sebagian topik paper akan saling bersinggungan dengan topik paper lain karena ketiadaan batas
yang tegas di dalam pemikiran akuntansi keuangan.
Karena nilai penting dari riset, tulisan, atau pemikiran tersebut, maka mahasiswa harus menggali
sedalam mungkin pemikiran-pemikiran penting tersebut sebagai modal bagi mahasiswa untuk
memulai pencarian ide riset.

Kebijakan Penilaian
Keberhasilan mahasiswa di dalam kuliah ini ditentukan dari kedalaman pemahaman mahasiswa
terhadap paper yang menjadi bacaan di mata kuliah ini. Untuk menentukan kedalaman pemahaman
tersebut, maka mahasiswa harus menunjukkannya melalui:
1. Antusiasme berdiskusi di setiap perkuliahan atas materi yang menjadi bahasan di pertemuan
tersebut. Untuk itu setiap mahasiswa wajib membekali diri dengan tiga pertanyaan tertulis
setiap pertemuan.
2. Analisis kritis atas bacaan di setiap pertemuan. Tugas tertulis ini harus diserahkan setiap
pekan untuk setiap paper wajib. Panduan penyusunan analisis disediakan
3. Presentasi atas paper yang menjadi tugasnya. Ini tugas per kelompok.
4. Proposal penelitian yang berhubungan dengan topik akuntansi keuangan. Topik riset yang
sangat diharapkan merupakan cikal dari rerangka teoretis riset tesis. Ini tugas pribadi.
CATATAN: Setiap mahasiswa HARUS membawa paper tercetak di setiap pertemuan. Bentuk pdf
(portable document format) tidak diizinkan, walau di layar komputer!
Mahasiswa harus menulis sebuah proposal riset akuntansi keuangan. Proposal tersebut penulis
harus merumuskan masalah dari isu tersebut dan tujuan dari penelitian. Tujuan penelitian mesti
mengacu kepada masalah, bukan kepada siapa yang mendapatkan manfaat dari tulisan tersebut.
Bagian selanjutnya adalah kajian teoretis dan empiris dari riset-riset terdahulu tentang isu yang
diangkat. Terakhir, mahasiswa menyusun desain penelitian. Tidak ada batasan halaman maksimum,
1,5 spasi, ukuran huruf serif 12.
Penting untuk diperhatikan oleh mahasiswa adalah kejujuran akademis dalam penulisan (termasuk
juga seluruh perkuliahan). Plagiarisme atau penjiplakan adalah sebuah kejahatan dan jika ditemukan
akan dikenai penalti maksimum berupa nilai E. Mahasiswa bisa mempelajari plagiarisme dan cara
