Origin of Dutch Colonialisme


Tahun-tahun penting
Tahun : 1596 31 Desember 1799
01  bangsa Belanda pertama kali mendarat di wilayah 03 kekuasaan VOC berubah dari pemerintah ke
Banten, Indonesia, di bawah kepemimpinan Kolonial Belanda. Setahun kemudian,
Cornelis de Houtman. VOC bubar karena gelombang revolusi ini
serta agresi Inggris ke Indonesia.

Tahun : 1619
Belanda berhasil menguasai Batavia (kini menjadi
02 Jakarta). Dalam beberapa tahun, Batavia
Tahun : 1808
berkembang cukup pesat karena menjadi pusat
VOC. 04 Herman Willem Daendels, seorang
politikus Belanda, diangkat menjadi
Gubernur Jenderal Hindia Belanda.
Ia melakukan sistem Rodi.
Jan Pieterszoon Coen
Indonesia : 21 mei 1619
Jan Pieterszoon Coen adalah Gubernur Jenderal wilayah
kongsi Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC) yang keempat dan
keenam. Pada masa jabatan pertama ia memerintah pada
tahun 1619 – 1623 dan untuk masa jabatan yang kedua berlangsung
pada tahun 1627 – 1629.
Johannes van den Bosch
Indonesia : 2 Februari 1780

Johannes graaf van den Bosch adalah seorang perwira dan politikus


Belanda. Ia adalah Gubernur-Jenderal Hindia Belanda ke-43 yang
memerintah pada 1830–1834. Ia pernah menjabat sebagai
komandan KNIL, Menteri Urusan Koloni, dan Menteri Negara.
Pada masa pemerintahan Van den Bosch sebagai Gubernur-Jenderal,
kebijakan tanam paksa (cultuurstelsel) mulai direalisasi.
Sebelumnya, kebijakan ini hanya sebuah konsep kajian yang dibuat
untuk menambah kas pemerintah kolonial maupun negara
induk Belanda yang kehabisan dana karena peperangan di Eropa
maupun daerah koloni (terutama di Jawa dan Sumatra).[
Herman Willem Daendels

Indonesia :
21 oktober 1762
Herman Willem Daendels adalah seorang politikus dan
jenderal Belanda yang menjadi Gubernur-Jenderal Hindia
Belanda yang ke-36. Ia memerintah antara tahun 1808 – 1811. Masa
itu Belanda sedang dikuasai oleh Prancis.
Gotfried Coenraad Ernst van Daalen
Indonesia : 23 Maret 1863
Gotfried Coenraad Ernst van Daalen adalah tokoh
militer Belanda. Van Daalen sangat dikenal atas tindakannya
di Aceh, ketika penduduk Tanah Gayo dan Alas
banyak dibantai saat menjabat sebagai gubernur militer di sana.
Saat tindakannya banyak diketahui pers di Belanda, Van Daalen
harus mengundurkan diri.
Pieter Both
Indonesia : November 1609
Pieter Both adalah wakil VOC pertama di Hindia dan bisa pula
dikatakan Gubernur-Jenderal pertama Hindia Belanda. Ia memerintah
antara tahun 1610 – 1614

der Capellen
Indonesia : 15 Desember 1778
Godert Alexander Gerard Philip baron van der Capellen adalah
penguasa Hindia Belanda pertama yang memerintah di Hindia setelah
dikuasai oleh Kerajaan Inggris selama beberapa tahun. Pada Konvensi
london, kepada Belanda diberikan kembali Hindia Belanda.
Johannes Benedictus van Heutsz
Indonesia : 3 Februari 1851
Johannes Benedictus "Jo" van Heutsz  adalah
seorang penguasa pemerintah Hindia Belanda yang
membawa Indonesia di bawah kekuasaan Belanda.
Van Heutsz dikirim ke Aceh sebagai subaltern (bawahan) pada tahun 1873 dan
memperoleh promosi dengan cepat. Kemudian ketika tahun 1887, dia
memperoleh kenaikan pangkat menjadi kepala staf, dan selanjutnya
tahun 1899, Van Heutsz diangkat sebagai gubernur militer dan
sipil Aceh yang harus menghadapi perang Aceh (1898-1903).[1][2] Dalam
jangka waktu satu tahun, dia mengatur (rencana)untuk dapat
menaklukan kerajaan Aceh.
Ratu Wilhelmina
Indonesia : 31 Agustus 1880
 Ratu Belanda sejak 1890 - 1948 dan Ibu Suri (dengan sebutan Putri)
sejak 1948 - 1962. Ia memimpin Belanda selama lebih dari 50 tahun,
lebih lama daripada penguasa monarki kerajaan Belanda lainnya.
Masa kekuasannya menjadi saksi beberapa titik perubahan di Belanda
dan sejarah dunia: Perang Dunia I dan Perang Dunia II, Krisis
Ekonomi tahun 1933, dan juga kejatuhan Belanda sebagai penguasa
kolonial.
Ia paling dikenang untuk perannya dalam Perang Dunia II di mana ia
membuktikan dirinya sebagai inspirasi besar bagi gerakan perlawanan
rakyat Belanda dan sebagai pemimpin utama pemerintahan Belanda
di pengasingan.
Johan van Oldenbarnevelt
Indonesia : 14 September 1547
negarawan Belanda yang berperan penting dalam perjuangan
Belanda meraih kemerdekaan dari Spanyol. Ia merupakan
pendiri perusahaan dagang terbesar pada masanya
yaitu VOC pada 20 Maret 1602.
Van Oldenbarnevelt lahir di Amersfoort. Dia belajar ilmu hukum di
Leuven, Bourges, Heidelberg and Padua, lalu hijrah menuju
Prancis dan Italia sebelum menetap di Den Haag. Dia adalah
pendukung Arminianisme, yang juga mendukung perjuangan
William Sang Pendiam pada revolusi melawan Spanyol.
SITUASI SAAT ITU
• Awal kedudukan Belanda di indonesia
1. Penjajahan Belanda di Indonesia berlangsung selama 350 tahun atau 3,5 abad lamanya. Pada tahun 1596, bangsa
Belanda pertama kali mendarat di wilayah Banten, Indonesia, di bawah kepemimpinan Cornelis de Houtman. Tujuan
Belanda datang yakni untuk berdagang dan mendapatkan rempah-rempah dengan harga murah.
2. Selama abad ke-18, Vereenigde Oost-Indische ( Disingkat VOC ) memantapkan dirinya sebagai kekuatan ekonomi dan
politik di pulau Jawa setelah runtuhnya Kesultanan Mataram. Perusahaan dagang Belanda ini telah menjadi kekuatan
utama di perdagangan Asia sejak awal 1600-an, tetapi pada abad ke-18 mulai mengembangkan minat untuk campur
tangan dalam politik pribumi di pulau Jawa demi meningkatkan kekuasaannya pada ekonomi lokal. Tahun 1619,
Belanda berhasil menguasai Batavia (kini menjadi Jakarta). Dalam beberapa tahun, Batavia berkembang cukup pesat
karena menjadi pusat VOC.
3. Namun korupsi, manajemen yang buruk dan persaingan ketat dari Inggris (East India Company) mengakibatkan
runtuhnya VOC menjelang akhir abad ke-18. Pada tahun 1796, VOC akhirnya bangkrut dan kemudian dinasionalisasi
oleh pemerintah Belanda. Akibatnya, harta dan milik (aset) VOC di Nusantara jatuh ke tangan mahkota Belanda pada
tahun 1800. Namun, ketika Perancis menduduki Belanda antara tahun 1806 dan 1815, aset-aset tersebut dipindahkan ke
tangan Inggris. Setelah kekalahan Napoleon di Waterloo diputuskan bahwa sebagian besar wilayah Nusantara kembali
ke tangan Belanda.
Keadaan ekonomi
• KEADAAN EKONOMI

1. Sementara itu, keadaa Ekonomi  pada masa itu sangat kritis, karena terjadi monopoli perdagangan dan sistem tanam
paksa (cultur stelsel) sehingga rakyat indonesia tidak dapat menentukan nasib perekonomiannya sendiri. Rakyat hanya
menjadi senjata belanda untuk menambah devisa belanda dan rakyat tidak mendapat upah yang layak, akibatnya
banyak rakyat yang sengsara dan kelaparan
KEBIJAKAN PENJAJAH PADA SAAT
ITU
• Kebijakan Belanda di Indonesia pada abad ke-20 adalah Politik Etis, yang berlaku sejak 17 September 1901 hingga 1942.
Politik Etis juga dikenal sebagai politik balas budi Belanda kepada rakyat pribumi Indonesia, yang telah dijajah selama
tiga abad lebih. Politik Etis muncul karena adanya penerapan politik tanam paksa di Indonesia pada abad ke-19, yang
sangat menyengsarakan rakyat pribumi. Geram dengan kebijakan itu, Pieter Brooshooft dan C Th van Deventer
melayangkan kritik keras terhadap pemerintah Belanda dan mencetuskan kebijakan.
Irigasi
1. Program irigasi dilakukan dengan cara membangun fasilitas pengairan untuk menunjang kesejahteraan rakyat.
Kemudian, sarana dan prasarana juga dibuat untuk mendukung aktivitas pertanian dan perkebunan, dengan cara
membangun waduk dan melakukan perbaikan sanitasi atau saluran kebersihan. Akan tetapi, pada praktiknya tetap
terjadi penyelewengan. Irigasi yang sudah diperbaiki dan dibangun ternyata ditujukan untuk mengairi sawah dan ladang
milik swasta dan pemerintah Belanda. Dampaknya, muncul jurang pemisah antara perekonomian milik swasta atau
pemerintah dengan rakyat
Emigrasi
• Emigrasi dilakukan untuk mewujudkan pemerataan kepadatan penduduk di Pulau Jawa dan Madura, yang jumlah
penduduknya mencapai 14 juta jiwa pada 1900. Hal ini juga dilakukan karena kawasan perkebunan di luar Pulau Jawa
sangat luas, sehingga tidak sebanding dengan pemukiman warga yang kala itu masih kecil. Akhirnya, pemerintah Belanda
mendirikan pemukiman baru di Pulau Sumatera dan sebagian rakyat Jawa dipindahkan ke sana. Warga kemudian
dipekerjakan di perkebunan-perkebunan yang membutuhkan pegawai.
Edukasi
• Edukasi Edukasi atau pendidikan digunakan untuk meningkatkan mutu sumber daya manusia (SDM) serta mengurangi
jumlah rakyat yang buta huruf. Di sisi lain, pemerintah Belanda membutuhkan pegawai yang terdidik dengan gaji rendah.
Bidang edukasi pun terbukti sangat berperan dalam pengembangan dunia pendidikan di Hindia Belanda. Mulai 1900,
berdiri banyak sekolah, baik untuk kaum priayi ataupun rakyat biasa di daerah-daerah. Akan tetapi, meski pemerintah
Belanda sudah mendirikan sekolah-sekolah untuk kaum pribumi, masih terjadi diskriminasi di dalamnya. Hanya anak-
anak pegawai dan orang berekonomi tinggi yang bisa mendapat pendidikan, sementara yang berpendapatan rendah tidak
diperkenankan untuk sekolah.
Dampak negatif penjajahan Belanda

1. Kehidupan bangsa Indonesia menjadi sangat miskin, terbelakang, dan memprihatikan karena berbagai penindasan  oleh
pemerintah colonial Belanda yang selalu bersikap sewenang - wenang terhadap bangsa Indonesia.
2. Banyaknya peperangan atas berbagai kerajaan di berbagai daerah Indonesia yang dilakukan pemerintah colonial
Belanda mengakibatkan banyaknya masyarakat Indonesia yang meninggal.
3. erpecahnya – pecahnya masyarakat Indonesia karena politik adu domba pemerintah colonial Belanda.
4. Kehidupan bangsa Indonesia yang terkekang karena dikendalikan oleh pemerintah colonial Belanda
