Unit 1 : Clothes : what do we wear

everyday ?
Perhatikan pernyataan berikut ini.

Dari pernyataan diatas dapat kita ketahui bahwa we wear different kinds of clothes for different
occasion (bahwa kita memakai pakaian yang berbeda untuk setiap kesempatan yang berbeda).

2
Mari kita perhatikan lagi gambar berikut ini

Pada Gambar diatas terdapat kalimat

- She is wearing a Mosterm dress.
- She always wears a Moslem dress
dari dua kalimat tersebut menjelaskan dua tense berbeda kalimat pertama diungkapkan dalam
the Present Cotinuos Tense , Sedangkan kalimat kedua adalah the Simple Present Tense .

3
Mari kita perhatikan dua tense berikut ini !!

1 . The present continuos tense (keadaan yang terjadi sekarang)

Contoh : > He is wearing a batik shirt
> she is wearing a blue shirt

2 . The simple present tense (kebiasaan yang di punyainya

sekarang )
Contoh : > He wears a batik shirt on special occasions
> She wears a blue shirt on monday
 Dari bacaan disamping , untuk bisa
memahaminya, kita harus menganalisis
kalimat itu secara benar menurut fungsi
katanya (mana subjeknya, mana kata
kerjanya).
Kata subjek, Kata kerja, Objek, dan Kata sifat
Contoh 1 :
Kalimat asli :
> A small workshop in Bali Producer clothes
↓ ↓ ↓
Subjek Katakerja Objek
Kalimat utama :
> A workshop Producer clothes
↓ ↓ ↓
Subjek Katakerja Objek

Maka artinya akan menjadi: "Sebuah pabrik kecil di

Bali membuat pakaian .
Contoh 2
Kalimat :

Mitra technically translater the design into patterns

↓ ↓ ↓
Subjek Katakerja Objek

Kata-kata yang berakhiran "-ly" biasanya berupa adverb (kata yang menjelaskan tentang
kata kerja). Jadi, kata technically memberikan keterangan pada kata kerja translate.
Makna kalimat diatas adalah :" Mitra secara teknis menterjemahkan rancangan
itu ke dalam pola-pola ".
MARI KITA LIHAT DUA KALIMAT PASIF INI

Contoh :
- finally all clothes are checked on faults and measurements
- they can be paked and shipped to other countries
Rumus :
To be + kata kerja bentuk ketiga
Kata-kata yang masuk dalam katagori "to be" :

Contoh kata kerja bentuk pertama -

ketiga :

"YES/NO QUESTIONS" AND "QUESTION-WORD

QUESTIONS“

Pada bagian ini kita akan belajar kata tanya ( 5W+1H)

1. "Yes/no questions "
Contoh : - Are you a teacher?
- Are they looking at us?
- Is she you daughter?
2. " Question-word questions "

Contoh 1 : A : "what are you doing?"

B : " I am studying English."

Contoh 2 : A : " how far is your house ?"

B : " my house is about 1 kilometre from here.

Kesimpulan : Kedua kalimat tanya diatas diucapkan dengan irama yang berbeda. Untuk "yes/no
questions" tidak terlalu masalah, karena secara umum hampir sama, yaitu di akhir dengan nada
yang naik, tapi tidak dengan "Question-word questions".Irama pengucapannya diakhiri dengan
nada menurun.
UNIT 2 : Buying Clothes: Cash or Credit?

CONTOH 1 :
1. The shirt is too small. I need a bigger one
2. The trousers are too long. I need shorter ones.
Catatan : sifat adjective adalah sifat yang dikatagorikan dalam tiga tingkat,
yang dikenal "degree of comparison" (misal: besar-lebih besar-
paling besar)
CONTOH 2 :

STIMULUS RESPONS
The Shirt I'll take it. How much is it?

atau

I'll take it. How much does it cost?

The Glasses I'll take them. How much are they ?

I need new school clothes I going to buy school clothes

Aldi need new shoes He going to buy new shoes
1. The present perfect continuous tense
Pola :

- " i have been waiting for her for 3 hours".
