Once upon a time in ancient times on the western part of Java, there
was a kingdom with a king named Prabu Rakata. The King has two sons.
The eldest Raden Sundana and the youngest Raden Topobrana. At that
time, the island of Java and Sumatra were still one land. Because Prabu
Rakata is very old, the kingdom is entrusted to his sons, the kingdom is
divided in the east to Raden Sundana, and the west to Raden
Topobrana. Then the King went to an ascetic who took place at the
border of the two kingdoms that had been divided by two, he left with
only carrying the urn of heirloom.
One time in the sixth year, the King heard that his son had a fight, Raden
Sundana attacked his brother kingdom Raden Topobrana. The King
then took the water-filled urn, then went to the battlefield where his
two sons were fighting fiercely, how angry he was.
Seeing his father coming, suddenly the war stopped. His two sons came
straight up and sat worshiping Prabu Rakata as well as his soldiers.
Then, his two sons were scolded by Prabu Rakata especially Raden
Sundana who dared to attack his brother kingdom.
Two sons bowed did not answer, then the King immediately stood up,
took the urn of heirloom. Then the seawater in the urn is splashed
along the border of the two kingdoms, then the empty urn is kept in
the border of the two kingdoms, and then the King returns to his
ascetic. Soon the boundary that was doused by sea water turned into
a strait. Now called the Sunda Strait.
The reason is named after the Sunda Strait Because the greedy Raden
Sundana wants his brother's territory. Until his father made the border
using the urn of heirloom by sprinkling the water which later became
the strait. It is said that the urn of heirloom stored on the border turned
into a mountain, named Mount Rakata or Mount Krakatoa. Well that's
the origin of the Sunda Strait and Mount Krakatoa
