Effect of Diet Nutrition on Blood Pressure Changes Hemodialysis Patients in Santosa

Background: Nutrition is a key factor in the treatment of patients with chronic kidney
disease because kidney burden decrease causes uremic reduction and side effects. Diet for
patients kidney failure chronic is to protect electrolyte levels, mineral, and fluids in a body
remains balanced. The aim of this research was to examine the effect of diet nutrition on
blood pressure changes in Hemodialysis patients admitted to Hemodialysis ward of Santosa
Hospital Bandung.

Methods: The method used in this study was survey method by interviewing 50 dialysis
patients referred to Hemodialysis ward of Santosa hospital which was performed in an
interview on 2017.

Results: The result of this research is that after interviewing 50 people, 80 % of patients who
implemented diet nutrients experienced a better condition on blood pressure, on the other
hand, the other 20% of patients who did not implement diet nutrients experienced an increase
in blood pressure.

Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that diet nutrients are very important for
hemodialysis patients because based on the report of the research, people who implemented
diet nutrients when they were in hemodialysis treatment had a good blood pressure and
experienced a fast healing process compared to patients who did not implement diet nutrients
which resulting in long healing process.
