ABSTRAK
Eddy current occurs when there is a magnetic field penetrating the conductor
field. In the current Eddy current utilization exercise, the goal to be achieved is being
able to understand how Eddy's current can stop the wheel spin.
In carrying out this experiment, the steps to be taken include: first, preparing
and assembling the tools and materials as shown in the module, then installing the
coil 500 winding at the U-core, then installing a solid iron core previously inserted
into the plastic supporters. Next connect the coil with the power supply (3v, 6v, 9v)
using the connecting cable. Next replace the coil with 1.000 winding (following the
previous procedure).
Then record the experimental results in the available table.The results
obtained after the experiments in, that is when the coil with 500 windings and given a
little distance and when the low voltage braking process / braking occurs so fast,
whereas if the distance is kept away again pengeremannya process be changed
slowly. And vice versa when given a large enough voltage, when given a little
distance then the braking fast and when kept away pengeremannya change slowly. At
the time of coils with 1000 winds that are not spaced (meeting) with low voltage, the
braking process occurs quickly, vice versa. So it can be concluded that Eddy current
will be formed when there is a circuit consisting of wind and iron core, the magnetic
induction of the circuit gives rise to flux and current.

4.2 Pembahasan
Arus Eddy biasanya berjalan sejajar dengan lilitan kumparan dan arus
terbatas pada daerah rangsangan medan magnet. Arus Eddy berkonsentrasi
dekat ke permukaan berdekatan dengan sebuah kumparan eksitasi dan
kekuatannya menurun dengan jarak dari kumparan yaitu Kerapatan arus
menurun eksponensial dengan kedalaman.
Arus Eddy dapat mengubah berbagai bentuk energi yang bermanfaat,
seperti energi kinetik menjadi panas, yang biasanya lebih sedikit manfaatnya.
Dalam berbagai aplikasi praktiks, satu diantaranya adaalah contoh yang kami
praktikum yaitu pengereman piringan. Selama pengereman, roda piringan
berada dalam medan magnet yang menimbulkan arus Eddy didalam roda.
Interaksi magnetik yang terjadi antara medan magnet yang digunakan dan
arus Eddy yang menyebabkan gerakan roda melambat.
Berdasarkan pada hasil percobaan diatas,pada saat diberikan tegangan
sebesar 2v dengan kumparan 500lilitan, pengereman terjadi secara lambat
atau perlahan. Ini disebabkan karena tegangan dan kumparan berpengaruh
terhadap proses pengereman. Ini artinya bahwa lebih cepat putaran piringan
lebih kuat pengaruhnya sehingga kereta yang bergerak pelan mengurangi gaya
pengeremannya sehingga proses pengeremannya berjalan lambat atau
perlahan. Begitupun ketika diberi tegangan 4v dengan 1000lilitan pengereman
terjadi secara cepat. Ini dikarenakan tegangan yang bekerja adalah tinggi dan
putaran piringan yang cepat dan roda piringan bergerak cepat sehingga
menambah proses pengereman, sehingga lebih berhenti.
