BAB I
PENDAHULUAN
A. LATAR BELAKANG
ionisasi = 0 < α < 1) menjadi ion-ion sehingga dalam larutan tersebut sedikit mengandung ion.

zat terlarutnya didalam pelarut (umumnya air), seluruhnya berubah menjadi ion-ion (alpha = 1).
Yang tergolong elektrolit kuat adalah :
· Asam-asam kuat, seperti : HCl, HCl03, H2SO4, HNO3 dan lain-lain.
· Basa-basa kuat, yaitu basa-basa golongan alkali dan alkali tanah, seperti: NaOH, KOH,
Ca(OH)2, Ba(OH)2 dan lain-lain.
· Garam-garam yang mudah larut, seperti: NaCl, KI, Al2(SO4)3 dan lain-lain
2. Elektrolit Lemah
a. Asam-asam lemah, seperti : CH3COOH, HCN, H2CO3, H2S dan lain-lain
b. Basa-basa lemah seperti : NH4OH, Ni(OH)2 dan lain-lain
c. Garam-garam yang sukar larut, seperti : AgCl, CaCrO4, PbI2 dan lain-lain

bebas. Ion-ion itulah yang menghantarkan arus listrik melalui larutan”.
BAB IV
PENUTUP
A.KESIMPULAN
menyala,sehingga larutatn disebut larutan nonelektrolit.
redup, sehingga larutan disebt larutan elektrolit lemah.
kuat.

into an electrolyte solution and a non-electrolyte solution. Electrolyte solution is a solution that
can conduct electric current by giving symptoms in the form of lights on the test equipment or
the emergence of gas bubbles in solution. The solution that shows these symptoms in the test is
classified into the electrolyte solution. This solution gives symptoms in the form of lights or the
emergence of gas bubbles in the solution. Electrolyte solutions contain charged particles (cations
and anions). This solution can be sourced from ionic compounds (compounds that have ionic
bonds) or polar covalent compounds (compounds that have polar covalent bonds). Strong
electrolyte solution is a solution that can conduct electrical current well. This is because the
solute will decompose completely (degree of ionization = 1) into ions so that the solution
contains many ions. Because many ions can conduct electric current, the conductivity is strong.
For example: NaCl. Weak electrolyte solution is a solution that can conduct electrical current
weakly. This is caused by the solute being partially decomposed (degree of ionization = 0 <α <1)
to become ions so that the solution contains few ions. This is because not all break down into
ions (imperfect ionization) so that in the solution there are only a few ions that can conduct
electrical current. For example: plain water, and NH3. Non-electrolyte solution is a solution
that cannot conduct an electric current by giving symptoms in the form of no bubbles in the
solution or non-burning lights on the test equipment. The solution that shows these symptoms in
the test is classified into a non-electrolyte solution. In a non-electrolyte solution, the molecules
are not ionized in the solution, so there are no charged ions which can conduct an electric
current. (degree of ionization = 0). For example: Urea solution, and glucose. B. PROBLEM

Strong electrolytes Strong electrolyte solutions are solutions that have a strong electrical
conductivity, because the solutes in solvents (generally water), all turn into ions (alpha = 1).
Classified as strong electrolytes are: • Strong acids, such as: HCl, HCl03, H2SO4, HNO3 and
others. • Strong bases, namely alkaline and alkaline earth bases, such as: NaOH, KOH, Ca (OH)
2, Ba (OH) 2 and others. • Salts that are soluble, such as: NaCl, KI, Al2 (SO4) 3 and others 2.
Weak electrolytes Weak Electrolyte Weak electrolyte solution is a solution that has a low
electrical conductivity with a value of the degree of ionization of: O <alpha <1. Classified as
weak electrolytes: a. Weak acids, such as: CH3COOH, HCN, H2CO3, H2S and others
c. Salts that are difficult to dissolve, such as: AgCl, CaCrO4, PbI2 and others
3. Non-electrolytes
Non-electrolyte solution is a solution that cannot conduct an electric current, because the
- Urea solution
- Sucrose solution
- Glucose solution
Electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions can be clearly distinguished from their nature, namely
Electric conductivity.
This was explained for the first time by Svante August Arrhenius (1859-1927), a scientist
from Sweden. Arrhenius discovered that electrolytes in water would break down into particles in
the form of atoms or groups of electrically charged atoms. Because the total solution is
uncharged, the amount of positive charge in the solution must be the same as the negative
charge.
Atoms or groups of electrically charged atoms are called ions. Ions that are positively charged
are called cations, whereas negatively charged ions are called anions. Proof of the nature of the
electrolyte solution that can conduct electricity can be demonstrated through experiments.
Substances that are classified as electrolytes are acids, bases, and salts.
• Strong bases, namely alkaline and alkaline earth bases, including: NaOH, KOH, Ca (OH) 2,
Mg (OH) 2, Ba (OH) 2.
• Salts that have high solubility, among others: NaCl, KCl, KI, Al2 (SO4) 3.
The non-electrolyte solution consists of non-electrolyte substances which are not dissolved in
water not decomposed into ions (not ionized). In solution, they remain molecular
which is not electrically charged. That is why non-electrolyte solutions cannot conduct
electricity. Proving the nature of non-electrolyte solutions that cannot conduct electricity can be
(C12H22O11), Ethanol (C2H5OH), Urea (CO (NH) 2), Glucose (C6H12O6), and others. 2. How
to Electrolyte Solution Conduct Electric Current In 1884, Svante Arrhenius, a famous chemist
from Sweden put forward the theory of electrolytes which until now the theory persisted even
though he was barely given his doctorate at Upsala University, Sweden, for expressing this
theory. According to Arrhenius, the electrolyte solution in water dissociates into positive and
negative electrically charged particles called ions (positive ions and negative ions). The number
of positive ion charges will equal the number of negative ion charges, so the charge of the ions in
the neutral solution. These ions are in charge of delivering an electric current. "The electrolyte
solution can conduct electricity because it contains ions that can move freely. It is the ions that
conduct electricity through the solution ". CHAPTER IV CLOSING A. CONCLUSION
NaCl solution that is electrified has many bubbles and bright lights. This shows that NaCl
solution includes strong electrolytes. Symptoms of sugar solution that arises is the absence of
gas bubbles, and the lights do not turn on, so the solute is called a non-electrolyte solution.
Symptoms of vinegar acid symptoms that arise are a little bubbles and dim lights, so that the
solution is called a weak electrolyte solution. It can be concluded that a solution will be able to
conduct electricity if the solution has free moving ions, but if the ions are tight and strong, so
they cannot move freely then the solution cannot conduct electricity. The electric current in the
conducting wire is electron while the electric current in the solution is the flow of charge (ions)
and HCL is an example of a strong electrolyte. B.Suggestions Based on the conclusions above,
