Syukur Alhamdulliah penulis aturkan ke hadirat allah SWT yang telah

melimpahkan Rahmat dan kurnianya, sehingga penulis bisa menyelesaikan Modul

Pembelajaran Untuk Siswa kelas XII TP 2020/ 2021.

Tujuan di buatnya Modul ini adalah sebagai salah satu referensi atau Sumber

belajar bagi peserta didik untuk mengikuti pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di kelas XII

Pengertian, Struktur, dan Contoh Cause and Effect dalam Bahasa Inggris

Definisi

Cause and effect teks adalah jenis paragraf yang berisi analisa – analisa penulis tentang
sebab dan akibat. Paragraf ini diawali dengan sebab – sebab yang dijabarkan di awal
kalimat dan kemudian ditarik menjadi satu kesimpulan umum yang merupakan akibat
dari penyebab – peyebab yang telah dijabarkan tersebut.

Model paragraf cause and effect ini biasanya sering digunakan dalam penulisan essay
dan text explanation. Hal ini dikarenakan model ini dianggap memiliki alur
penyampaian gagasan yang jelas dan terstruktur, sehingga para pembaca mudah
mengerti ketika membacanya.

Generic Structure

Paragraf cause and effect memiliki susunan atau generic structure sebagai berikut:

1. Memiliki gagasan utama pada topik sentence yang akan di bahas dalam
keseluruhan paragraf.
2. Memiliki supporting detail atau kalimat-kalimat pendukung yang berupa
penyebab.
3. Diakhiri dengan concluding sentence atau kesimpulan yang berupa akibat.

Language Form

Paragraf cause and effect memiliki gaya bahasa seperti di bawah ini.

1. Menggunakan tenses yang tergatung dengan konteks waktu dalam kalimat,


dengan kata lain, dapat berupa past tense, present tense, atau future tense.

2. Banyak menggunakan kata kerja atau verb dalam kalimat aktif dan pasif.
3. Menggunakan transisi seperti, due to, because, consequently, as a result, dan
causes.
4. Menggunakan third person point of view.

Drought which is happened this year is very long. , in the last two
month almost there was no rain. , with the very hot weather
makes surface of the soil is cracked and dry and causes the dust is flying
away. , the water that is stored in the irrigation couldn’t be
found anymore there is no water which is flowing the farmers’
rice , they suffered a failure in harvesting because the rice
they planted is failed to grow by this drought.

Paragraph Cause and Effect 2

Alcoholic drinking is very dangerous for our health. There are lot of
problems caused by this dangerous fluid. First, it can cause a swell in our
liver. This is because it can trigger the liver to work extra hard filtering
the fluid in our body, so that, the liver becomes swollen because it
contains so much fluid. Secondly, alcoholic drinking damages the human
brain. It will decrease the function of alcohol addict’s brain, thereby
increasing the risk of depression and frustration. If this happens, there
will be a change in behavior on the alcoholic, even they can be mad. Then,
alcohol also decreases the functions of our senses. One is our eye is
absolutely can be blind because of alcohol. In addition, this drink can also
speed up menopause in women because it decreases the function of
reproductive organs in women, so that they will get menopause sooner
than the period in general. Last, it is also able to cause defects in the fetus.
Alcohol that comes into the body of pregnant women also has an impact
on their baby, so that they will be born with disabilities. Therefore, the
circulation of alcoholic drinking is prohibited in Indonesia because it
causes several dangerous diseases to the body.

penjelasan di bawah:

Cause
 (noun) seseorang atau sesuatu yang membuat sesuatu terjadi.
The cause of the flood was the massive of amount garbage thrown in the river. (Penyebab
dari banjir itu adalah banyaknya sampah yang dibuang ke sungai.)
 (verb) sebuah kegiatan yang membuat sesuatu terjadi.
The massive amount of garbage thrown in the river caused the flood. (Banyaknya
sampah yang dibuang ke sungai menyebabkan banjir ini.)
Effect
 (noun) sebuah perubahan yang merupakan hasil dari sebuah kegiatan atau
sebab.
The rain had an effect on her mood. (Hujan mempunyai pengaruh pada mood-nya.)
Affect
Ketika effect digunakan sebagai verb, kata tersebut berubah menjadi affect.
 (verb) untuk menghasilkan sebuah efek; menyebabkan terjadinya sesuatu.
The rain affected his mood. (Hujan mempengaruhi mood-nya.)

Kalimat Sebab-akibat dalam Bahasa Inggris

Mengidentifikasi kalimat yang mengandung hubungan sebab-akibat bila dalam kalimat


tersebut terdapat kata atau frasa seperti:

kata atau frasa (signal word/phase) seperti :

Di contoh berikutnya noun atau noun phrase akan digaris bawahi. Sebab atau cause
selalu ditulis setelah frasa sebab-akibat (signal word/phase) seperti contoh di atas. Di

Bagian dari Laporan

Penting juga untuk tahu apa saja bagian atau unsur dalam laporan formal. Beberapa
bagiannya adalah:

 Mengandung “From”, “To”, dan “Date”

Hal ini untuk menjelaskan siapa yang menulis, siapa objek yang ada dalam bacaan, dan
kepada siapa laporan ini diberikan. Selain itu, tanggal dibuatnya laporan juga tidak
kalah penting untuk dokumentasi.

 Judul Laporan

Selain itu, tak kalah penting untuk menuliskan judul laporan atau subjek dari tulisan
kamu. Hal ini digunakan untuk memudahkan orang yang membaca untuk
memahaminya.

 Bagian Awal

Bagian paling penting dalam laporan adalah perkenalan atau introduction. Bagian ini
menjelaskan apa yang diminta pada penulis sekaligus mencantumkan siapa yang
meminta laporan ini.

Selain itu, juga dituliskan tenggal waktu kapan laporan ini harus diberikan.

 Bagian Kedua

Lebih lanjut lagi usai bagian awal atau pembuka, penulis juga memaparkan tahapan
yang telah dilakukan selama menyusun laporan atau melakukan eksperimen

Cara ini juga termasuk penjelasan tentang tempat, wawancara, survei, dan masih
banyak lagi. Semuanya dipaparkan untuk menjembatani orang mengerti dengan metode
apa seluruh data ini terkumpul.

 Temuan

Bagian ketiga adalah yang terpenting dalam sebuah laporan, berisikan temuan atau
findings. Bagian ini harus menjadi yang paling jelas dan padat berisi karena di sinilah
semua temuan penting diutarakan.

Biasanya bagian temuan ini lebih panjang dibandingkan dengan yang lain, dan
menggunakan sub-headings untuk memudahkan klasifikasi. Ingat, gunakan juga kalimat
yang singkat dan jelas. Hindari menggunakan kalimat panjang lebar.

Tak hanya itu, penulis juga bisa menggunakan berbagai bentuk seperti tabel, listicle,
diagram, dan lain sebagainya untuk mendukung tersajinya data dengan mudah.

 Kesimpulan

Usai memaparkan temuan, maka bagian keempat dalam sebuah laporan adalah
kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari seluruh proses penyusunan laporan.

Dari semua yang dipaparkan di bagian ketiga, maka di sinilah penulis merangkum
semua yang telah diperolehnya berdasarkan data-data yang ada.

 Saran

Bagian terakhir setelah memaparkan kesimpulan adalah rekomendasi dan saran yang
diberikan oleh penulis. Hal ini penting untuk kelanjutan dari sebuah laporan. Pada
dasarnya, sebuah laporan dibuat untuk perkembangan dari sebuah isu.

Dengan cara ini, penulis bisa memberikan rekomendasi personal mereka terkait isu
yang diangkat. Tentu rekomendasi ini tidak akan main-main karena sudah berdasarkan
eksperimen yang tersusun dengan rapi.

 Penutup

Di bagian akhir, laporan akan mengandung nama penulis dan elemen lain seperti tanda
tangan. Biasanya bagian ini dituliskan di kiri bawah sebuah halaman.

Berikut ini sebuah contoh bagaimana laporan dituliskan dengan singkat untuk
keperluan akademis. Topiknya adalah tentang isu penggunaan plastik. Simak berikut

You recently asked me to submit a short report on “The Plastic Awareness


Campaign” that I have been conducting in the neighborhood. You asked that I
submit a report within three weeks of the start of the campaign.

The Plastic Awareness Campaign has been held in 10 cities until now. Workshops,
interactive sessions, as well as pamphlets are an integral part of the campaign.

Students have demonstrated a keen interest in our campaign. More than a hundred
students have come forth to join the campaign and encourage people to use plastic
wisely. Students enroll in workshops conducted by Mr. Das and others. They are
asked to explore alternatives other than plastic. They are also instructed in proper
disposal of plastic and made aware of the dangers of plastic to the environment.

The response to Plastic Awareness Campaign has been positive. Students show a lot
of interest in pursuing the campaign, even outside of their area.

I would like to recommend that the Plastic Awareness Campaign continue for
another two months. This will make it possible to educate several schools in the
city. It would also be helpful if students are taught how to make simple paper bags

using old newspapers, magazines, and books.

We can make The Plastic Awareness Campaign a running success in the city.
Another more detailed report will be represented to you in the event that the
plastic campaign is extended.

Definition: A letter of application, also known as a cover letter, is a document sent with
your resume to provide additional information on your skills and experience.

A letter of application typically provides detailed information on why are you are
qualified for the job you are applying for. Effective application letters explain the
reasons for your interest in the specific organization and identify your most relevant
skills or experiences.

PART OF A LETTER

1. Heading

Pada bagian heading, Anda dapat menuliskan informasi-informasi detail tentang


identitas Anda. Seperti nama, alamat lengkap meliputi kota provinsi dan kode pos,
nomor telepon dan email.

5. Signature

Signature pada application letter dengan bahasa yang sopan seperti regards atau
sincerely. Kemudian tambahkan tanda tangan yang diikuti dengan nama jelas. Jika
