adalah Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI).
oran g pasien pso riasis dan 25 orang indiv idu seh at men ggunak an metode Enzyme-linked
ABSTRACT
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that is thought to be mediated by a distinct
type of T helper cell, called T helper17 with the secretion of Interleukin-17 (IL-17) . Recent
progress in the understanding of psoriasis has shown that the regulation of local and systemic
cytokines plays an important role in its pathogenesis. The most often used of psoriasis severity
degree is the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI).
This study was performed to evaluate the comparison of the IL-17 serum level between
psoratic patients and healthy controls and its correlation with PASI score. Serum level of IL-17 in
25 psoriatic patients and 25 healthy controls were measured using Enzyme-linked immunosorbent
assay (ELISA) method, correlating its level to PASI score.
The serum level of IL-17 in the psoriatic patients were significantly higher than those of
controls (patients x = 9,806 ±2,202; controls x = 5,365±0,694 ; p<0,001). Also serum level of IL-
17 in the psoriatic patients were significantly correlated with PASI score (p<0,001; r = 0,791). The
mean of PASI score in this study was 24,412±16,159. Our study showed that IL-17serum level
increased in psoriatic patients and correlate with the disease severity of psoriasis.(MDVI 2015; 42/
