Before the Coronavirus case happened, China had faced the same desolating case 18 years ago.
SARS virus had claimed the lives of 774 victims worldwide just in a year.

The virus first spread in Guangdong province at the end of 2002. However, the Chinese
government decided to conceal the case regarding the fear that it would shake the Chinese
economy.

Finally at the beginning of 2003, China could handle the SARS case no more. An infected man
called Zhou Zuofen became the first super-spreader of SARS inside the hospital. Therefore, since
the government deliberately hid the case, not a single victim knew they were infected until
March 2003.

Sebelum kasus Coronavirus terjadi, China telah menghadapi kasus menyedihkan yang sama 18
tahun yang lalu. Virus SARS telah merenggut nyawa 774 korban di seluruh dunia hanya dalam
setahun.

Virus ini pertama kali menyebar di provinsi Guangdong pada akhir tahun 2002. Namun,
pemerintah China memutuskan untuk menyembunyikan kasus tersebut karena khawatir akan
mengguncang perekonomian China.

Akhirnya pada awal tahun 2003, China tidak bisa menangani kasus SARS lagi. Seorang pria yang
terinfeksi bernama Zhou Zuofen menjadi penyebar super pertama SARS di dalam rumah sakit.
Karena itu, karena pemerintah sengaja menyembunyikan kasus itu, tidak ada satu pun korban
yang tahu bahwa mereka terinfeksi hingga Maret 2003.

Hingga akhir Mei 2003, terdapat 8.200 kasus infeksi yang terjadi di seluruh dunia.
