4. Perhitungan tekanan uji cold dif. diperlukan data :


 Back pressure
 Temperature koreksi (1 – 4 % set pres)
 Jenis katup pengaman (Conventional)
 Cold Diff = tekanan uji – back pres + temp
koreksi

5. Data Peralatan untuk Pengujian :


 Kelayakan test bench
 Sertifikat kalibrasi alat ukur (range 1,5 pressure)
 Fluida test Nitrogen / udara
 Rating gasket

6. Uji Tekan Buka dan Uji Bocor


 Perhatikan dan amati kenaikan pressure gauge.
 Pastikan penunjuk angka pressure gauge dengan
set pressure sewaktu katup buka (popping)
 Turunkan tekanan 10 % dari set pressure amati
kebocoran. Batasan toleransi kebocoran yang
dibolehkan mengacu kepada standar API 527.

7. Pergantian Pegas Katup Pengaman.


Berdasarkan ASME Sec VIII pegas katup pengaman
dapat diberikan toleransi tekanan uji yaitu tidak
boleh lebih/kurang dari tekanan yang tercantum
dalam markah pada katup pengaman, untuk :
 Tekanan uji kurang dari 250 psi toleransinya 10 %
 Tekanan uji lebih dari 250 psi toleransinya 5 %

1. Required Document
- Existing PSV: Data sheet, P&ID, previous SKPP
- New PSV: Above documents (except previous SKPP) and mill &
test certificate and project/study package

2. Testing Media
The testing media at valve shop is air, but if using air impractical,
testing with water is permitted

Especially PSV under DEPNAKERTRANS, PSV shall be tested at Boiler


during steam test
3. Leak Test
Leak test shall be conducted after popping test
- PSV > 50 psi : leak test at 90% of Setting pressure
- PSV < 50 psi : leak test at 95% of Setting pressure

4. Acceptance Criteria
4.1. Popping test (PSV MIGAS) :
PSV > 70 psi : + 3 % of setting pressure
PSV < 70 psi : + 2 psi

4.2. Steam test :


• No chattering

• Popping at :
PSV > 1000 psi : + 1 % of setting pressure
PSV < 1000 psi : + 10 psi

• Blowdown shall not less than 2% and shall not greater


than 5% of setting pressure

• Steam temperature during popping has reached 400oC

4.3. Leak test

With air:
• For a metal-seated valve, the leakage rate in bubbles per
minute shall not exceed the appropriate value in table. 1
API STD 527 “Seat Tightness of Pressure Relief Valves”.

• For soft-seated valve: no visible leakage for 1 minute (0


bubbles per minute)
With steam:
For both metal- and soft-seated valves, there shall be no audible or
visible leakage for 1 minute
With air:
• For a metal-seated valve :
- inlet pipe > 1” : leakage rate < 10 cm3 /hour per inch of
nominal inlet size.
- inlet pipe < 1” : leakage rate < 10 cm3 /hour

• For soft-seated valve: no leakage for 1 minute.
