ABSTRACT
Febrile seizures are a rise of body temperature above 38oC rapidly because of infection or non
infection process which is characterized by a stiff all over the body during less than 15 minutes. Risk
factors of febrile seizures repeated include family experiences during contact children with seizures
febrile, and the history about febrile seizures in their family. Some factors which influence the level of
family knowledge such as knowledges, and experiences. The purpose of this study was to provide
nursing care for children with febrile seizures in under fives with the focus of the study is deficit
knowledge management of prevention management for febrile seizures at home. The research design
was a case study with descriptive method. Research subjects were two families who had children with
a history of febrile seizures. Research location at Kampung Segaran, Tambakaji, Ngaliyan, Semarang.
The instrument used was a questionnaire containing 15 true and false questions. Technique of collecting
data conducted by interview, observation, and document study. The results showed that the provision
of health education can increase the level of family knowledge in the management of prevention of
febrile seizures at home. This is indicated by the provision of questionnaires in the form of 15 statements
true or false, that given after health education showed that both clients are able to answer correctly as
many as 13 statements. It’s suggested that family with febrile seizures history will be practice the
management of prevention of febrile seizures at home.
