 Boiler adalah perangkat konversi energi panas yang dari pembakaran
bahan bakar (Gas) atau energi panas lainnya untuk memanaskan air atau
media lain untuk memperoleh uap, air panas(Hot water).
 Boiler terdiri dari dua bagian “Ketel" dan "tungku. untuk memastikan
pengoperasian normal boiler, spare part, instrument, perangkat kontrol
otomatis.
 Ketel adalah bagian dari tempat menampung air.
>Fungsinya untuk menyerap panas yang dikeluarkan dari tungku,
sehingga air dapat dipanaskan hingga suhu dan tekanan tertentu, (ketel air
panas) atau menjadi uap (ketel uap).
 Tungku : bagian dari boiler untuk pembakaran bahan bakar.
>Fungsinya untuk melepaskan panas bahan bakar sebanyak
mungkin dan memindahkannya ke medium di dalam panci, dan
menghasilkan panas agar panci menyerap.
