ABSTRACT
Secondary metabolites, the effect of administration, and the optimal dose of red betel leaf (Piper
Crocatum Ruiz & Pav) ethanol concentrate on the histopathological characteristics of male white rats
(Rattus norvegicus) are the main objectives of this study. In the experiment, 30 male white rats were
divided into six treatment groups: the healthy control group was given streptozotocin, the sick control
group was given 0.5% NaCMC, and the red betel leaf extract group was given 150, 250, and 350mg. ./kg
body weight. Using a 400x light microscope, HE staining revealed the degree of renal histopathological
damage. Secondary metabolites in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins were found in
the red betel ethanol extract which affected the regeneration of kidney tissue cells in male white rats at an
effective dose of 350mg/kgBW and an average damage value of 0.2.
kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok control sehat diberi streptozotocin, kelompok control sakit diberi Na
CMC 0,5%, dan kelompok konsentrat daun sirih merah diberi 150, 250, dan 350mg./kgBB. Menggunakan
mikroskop cahaya pembesar 400 kali lipat, pewarnaan HE di gunakan untuk menggambarkan tingkat
kerusakan histopatologi.
