 Pengertian

Katarak adalah kekeruhan pada lensa tanpa nyeri yang

berangsur – angsur penglihatan kabur akhirnya tidak dapat
menerima cahaya. Katarak adalah terjadinya opasitas secara
progresif pada lensa atau kapsul lensa. Umumnya akibat dari
proses penuaan yang terjadi pada semua orang lebih dari 65
tahun (Fitria, 2017).
 Etiologi
Faktor Pencetus : Faktor lain :

b. Keturunan Katarak sekunder

c. Lingkungan seperti Paparan sinr radiasi

 Patofisiologi
Perubahan fisik dan kimia dalam lensa mengakibatkan
hilangnya transparansi. Perubahan dalam serabut halus
multipel (zonula) yang memanjang dari badan silier ke
sekitar daerah di luar lensa. Perubahan kimia dalam
protein lensa dapat menyebabkan koagulasi, sehingga
mengabutkan pandangan dengan menghambat jalannya
cahaya ke retina
 MANIFESTASI
Klinis
a) Penglihatan tidak jelas, seperti terdapat kabut
menghalangi objek.
b) Gangguan penglihatan bisa berupa:
• Peka terhadap sinar atau cahaya.
• Dapat melihat dobel pada satu mata (diplobia).
• Memerlukan pencahayaan yang terang untuk
dapat membaca.
• Lensa mata berubah menjadi buram seperti
kaca susu.

2. Resiko tinggi cedera berhubungan dengan kerusakan

fungsi sensori penglihataan – kehilangan vitreus,
pandangan kabur, perdarahan intraokuler.

3. Kurang pengetahuan tentang kondisi, prognosis,

pengobatan berhubungan dengan tidak mengenal
sumber informasi, kurang terpajan/mengingat,
keterbatasan kognitif.
