A. Pendahuluan
1. Kompetensi Dasar

interpersonal lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberikan ucapan
selamat bersayap (extended), dan responnya, sesuai dengan konteks
penggunaannya.

dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan yang

3.2.1 Menganalis fungsi social, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaaan teks interaksi
interpersonal lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberikan
ucapan selamat bersayap (extended), dan responnya, sesuai dengan konteks
penggunaannya.

4.2.1 Menggunakan ucapan selamat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari baik berupa tulisan
ataupun lisan.
4.2.2 Mempraktekkan cara memberi ucapan selamat beserta responsnya secara
berpasangan.

3. Materi Pokok
Pada KD ini siswa akan mempelajari tentang ungkapan selamat(bersayap). Siswa
akan menentukan social function dan language features. Selain itu, siswa juga akan
mempelajari contoh ungkapan beserta responnya tentang ungkapan selamat
(bersayap).

C. Uraian Materi
In this material, the students will learn about the social function of
congratulation, how to congratulate others and respond the expressions of
congratulation.
1. Social Function
The social function of congratulation is to congratulate someone. It is addressed to
people because of their success in working, studying, winning, or establishing
company, shop, restaurant, etc. It can also be addressed to them who have just got
prize or gift from other people.
2. Language Structure
To express congratulations, we can use some patterns:
a. I’d like to congratulate you on + noun
b. Congratulation on + noun
c. I must congratulate you for +noun
d. Congratulate + on/ for + noun
e. Congratulation + on/ for + noun
f. Happy + noun
3. Example Expression of Congratulation and the Responses.

a. Dialogue 1
Roy : Who won the football match yesterday? Siapa yang menang pertandingan
sepak bola kemarin?
Tom : Our team did. We won three to one. Tim kami yang menang. Kami menang
3-1.
Roy : Congratulation. I’m glad to hear it. Selamat ya. Aku senang mendengarnya.
Tom : Thank you. Terimakasih

b. Dialogue 2
Riski : Is it true what the newspaper’s headline said? Benar tidak headline surat
kabar kemarin.
Anton : What news? Kabar apa?
 Jodi : The news about you winning the national novel writing competition. Is it
really you? Kabar tentang kamu yang memenangkan lomba menulis novel.
Apa benar itu kamu?
Anton : Yeah. It is me. Iya itu aku
Riski : Congratulations! We’re happy for you. Selamat ya. Betapa bahagianya
kamu

Anton : Thanks a lot guys. Terima kasih banyak teman

Jodi : It’s a terrific job, Anton. Kerja hebat Anton

Anton : Oh, no, I guess it’s just my luck. Tidak juga, mungkin hanya
keberuntuganku saja

c. Dialogue 3

After a long struggle and hard work, Alif is finally appointed as the director of a
national company where he works. Many of his friends who work at the same
company congratulate him.

Samuel : Alif, congratulations. You deserved it, Man.

Alif : Thank you very much. This is because you always help me.
Sinta : I am very happy for you, Alif. Now, that you are the director of the
company, I believe the company will develop even faster.
Alif : (replies with a happy tone) Thank you. I cannot forget your
collaboration with me, and I will still need your help.
Other friends shake his hands and congratulate him too.

Deni : That’s wonderful, Alif.

Alif : Oh, thanks.
Santi : Good for you. Good luck.
Alif : Thank you very much.

promotion, graduation, etc.
