The process of harvesting rice in the Karawang regency, especially in the village
of Pasirtanjung the majority is still done traditionally using modest conventional
tools, namely sickle. Traditionally harvested rice is considered less effective and
efficient, besides it has the risk of skeletal muscle injury (musculoskeletal
disorders). Based on these problems, this research intends to redesign the
development of a lawn mower so that it can function as an ergonomic rice
harvesting machine and/or tool. The redesign and design of additional components
in product development efforts are carried out using theapproach Reverse
Engineering, while the dimensions of the product design component dimensions are
determined based on the Anthropometric data of the farmers of Pasirtanjung
Village. With an ergonomic design of rice harvesters, it is expected that the process
of rice harvesting will be more effective and efficient.
