ACTIVITY 2
Read the information about what a procedure text is. Discuss the information
with your friends and the teacher.
A Procedure Text is a text that explains how something works or how to use
instruction / operation manuals.
Functions / purposes:
 To give instruction how to make or operate something.
 To give direction how to make or operate something.
 To explain / to tell / to describe / to inform how to to make or operate
something.
 To explain / to tell / to describe / to inform the steps, the ways, or the
methods how to do to make something.
Generic structures:
 Aim/ goal : contains information about the destination in the making or
operating of something.

 Material :
There are three types of procedural text that does not use the materials.
Those are:
▪ A procedural text that identifies how to perform the instruction manual.
Example: How to use avideo game, a computer, etc.
▪ A procedural text that instructs how to perform certain activities with
unregulated.
Examples: Road safety rules, Video game rules, etc.
▪ A procedural text that relates to human natures or habits.
Examples: How to live happily, How to succeed, etc.
 Steps : sequence tasks that must be done so that the goals can be achieved.
Steps or sequence of tasks must be from the first to the last.
Language features:
 Use imperative sentences (commands), for examples cut, do not mix, and so
on.
 Use action verbs, such as turn, put, do not, mix, etc.
 Use connectives (conjunctions) to sort of activity, for examples then, after
that, finally, etc.
 Use adverbials (adverbs) to declare the detailed time, place, an accurate way,
for examples, for five minutes, 2 hours, etc.
 Use the Simple Present Tense.

Read the instructions to answer the questions below.

First, separate the colored clothes from the others. Then, put them in the
washing machine, turn the machine on, set it to the wash selection and pour the
detergent powder in. Next wait until the tub is filled with water. After the
process of washing has finished, let the clothes drain through the drain hose.
After that, set the knob of the wash timer again, this time is to rinse for three

minutes. Do this twice for a good rinsing. Finally, put the wet clothes into the
spin compartment, set the knob and wait until the spin processing shuts off.
Now, you areready to put the clothes on the line.

ACTIVITY 4
Read the following instructions to answer the questions that follow.
Connect the lead from the charger to the bottom of your cellular phone or to a
charging stand. Then plug the charger into a standard wall outlet. When the
battery is charging, the battery strength indicator on the right side of the display
scrolls.
NOTE: When you charge the battery for the first time, the battery strength
indicator will not scroll the entire time, this is normal.
If your phone displays “Not charging”, charging is suspended. Check that the
battery is connected to an approved charging device. If the battery is very hot or
cold, wait for a while; charging will automatically resume after the battery is
restored to its normal operating state. If charging still fails, contact your dealer.

In a group of 4, match the pictures (A, B, C, D, E) with the steps (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) of
adding the music to your Instagram post. You can practice the procedure by
using someone’s cellular phone.
How to Add Music to an Instagram Post
To begin with, it is important to know that Instagram does not actually
allow you to add music directly to your Instagram posts. You can only add
music to your Instagram stories and reels. Even if you add music to a video you
made on your story and download it, the video will be downloaded without the
song.
If you want to attach a song to a video and upload it on Instagram as a post,
you would have to edit your video beforehand. There are loads of free video
editing apps and programs available that allow you to add music to your videos.
Once you’re done, you can upload the video to your Instagram feed. One of the
most feature rich and easiest to use of the free video editing apps is
called InShot. To add music to your videos before posting on Instagram, just
follow these steps:

tap “New.” Select your video that you would like to edit from
your library.
2. Tap on the “Music” button in the bottom left corner.
Select “Tracks.”
3. You can select from featured music, import music from your
files, or even extract audio directly from another video. Select
your track.
4. To edit the timing, fade, or other settings associated with the
audio, tap the bar with the title of the track at the bottom of the
screen.
5. When you’re finished, tap the check mark. Then tap
the “Export” button in the top right of the screen. Select your
resolution and frame rate, then tap “Save.”

How To Add Music to an Instagram Reel
Instagram released the Reels feature in August of 2020. With it being such a
new feature, Reels are one of the easiest ways to post content on Instagram
including music. To add music to a reel, follow these simple steps:
A. Tap the “+” sign in the top right of the Instagram home page. Select “Reels”
at the bottom of the page.
B. Select the track that you would like to add to the Reel.
C. You can add the music before or after recording your Reel.
D. Use the slider at the bottom of the screen to select the part of the song that
you would like to use for the Reel.
E. Tap the “Music” icon on top of the list of icons at the left.

B. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Read the following procedure to answer question number 1 to 3 that
follow.
(1) Make sure you have the funds necessary to purchase the snacks or
drinks inside.
(2) Decide which item you would like to purchase, and take out enough
money to pay for the item. Count out the amount exactly equal to the
price listed next to the snack or drink.
(3) Insert your money into the vending machine. If you have a bill with
you, make sure it is smooth, as vending machines often reject wrinkled
or torn bills. If the machine takes coins, feed any coins into the coin
slot.
(4) Press the button that goes with your snack choice.
(5) If all goes well, your snack will dispense. Push in the door of this
retrieval unit, if a door exists, and retrieve your snack or drink.
