Definition of procedure text ( recipe ) is a text that explains or helps us how to make ( cook)
something. For example “ How To Make Fried Rice “, “ How To make Sandwiches” ,
How To Make Ice Cream” , etc.
The social function of recipe
▪ Recipe is used to describe how food is completely made or cooked through a
 sequence of series.
Generic structure of recipe
▪ Goal / Aim
This text containts about purpose of making something.
▪ Material or Ingredient
Material consist of ingredients that are used in making something.
▪ Step/Methods
Contains the steps or sequences that must be done so that the objectives outlined in
the aim/goal to be achieved. Steps or sequences must be a sequence from the first to
the last.
Language Feature of Recipe
Noun or noun groups is a word that functions as the name of some spesific
thing or set of things. Noun or noun groups in recipe are used in the listed
materials or equipment. For example bowl, rice, glass, etc.
Conjunctions is a word to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words
in the same clause. Conjunctions in recipe are used to show chronogical
order. For instance before, while, then,
after, etc.
Action verbs is a verb that expresses an action. For example; cut, mix, stir,
put, etc.
Imperatives. An imperative sentence gives a command. For example: add
some sugar, mix the ingredients, cut the onion.
Adverbial is word or phrase functioning like an adverb. There are two types
of adverbial that are commonly used in recipe. First is adverbial of sequence
which is used to add detail information about the sequence. For example first,
second, finally, then, etc. In addition, another adverbial is used to express
detail of the time, manner, or place. For Example: for five minutes, for an
hour, in three minutes.
Vocabulary that is commonly used in recipe ranges from technical to
everyday language according to the target of language.
Language The language in recipe is supposed to be clear and precise.

How to Make Doughnut

Ingredients:
1. Wheat flour ½ kg
2. 11 grams of instant yeast ½ pack
3. 4 tablespoons sugar
4. 2 Chicken eggs
5. 200 ml Boiled water
6. 3 tablespoons milk powder
7. 3 tbsp butter
8. 3 tsp salt
9. butter cream (that donut has a dry texture)
10. Cooking oil to taste.

Steps:

1. Prepare a container (bowl or other) to mix the

ingredients for donuts.
2. Put the eggs in a container, add flour, sugar, milk, butter, butter cream, and salt, then
whisk all ingredients until well blended. (First batter)
3. Put the yeast in the other container, add water, stir
4. Add the yeast water into the first mixture, stirring until smooth.
5. Knead the dough by hand until smooth.
6. Cover the container, let stand about 30 minutes (until the dough).
7. Form the dough into small spheres (use a tablespoon of that same size), and then save the
dough which has been formed on the container that has been previously sprinkle flour.
Complete these steps until all the dough is formed.
8. Let stand back about 20 minutes until dough which had been formed earlier looks swell.
9. Heat the pan using a small fire, and enter the cooking oil to taste.
10. Take the dough which had been formed earlier, bolongi middle (donut shape in general),
and fry until soft and slightly brown color, remove and drain.
11. Sprinkle donut that has been fried with flour sugar, or if you want, can also smear the
surface with butter then sprinkled on top toping using meisis, cheese, or peanut.
12. The Doughnut ready to be served.

How to Make Fried Banana

Ingredients:

• 1 ripe black-skinned plantain or 4 small finger banana (make sure that the
banana is sweet)
• 1 tsp. sugar
• 1 egg
• 6 tbs. flour
• a pinch of salt
• water
• vegetable oil for deep frying

Steps/ Instruction:

1. Place flour in a deep mixing bowl. Make a well in the middle of the flour, and
add egg, sugar and salt. Add water little by little. Whisk vigorously until batter is
evenly smooth for coating and not too thin. If it is too thin, add more flour.
2. Peel plantain or banana and cut in half lengthwise and then cut again with 4-
inch width. Dip into batter to coat generously.
3. Heat oil in a wok or deep fryer until moderately hot. Place coated plantain or
banana in the wok or deep fryer and fry slowly until golden brown and crispy.
This usually take approximately 10-15 minutes. Remove bananas from oil, drain
on paper napkins and dry well.
4. Serve while still warm

4. While waiting,blend oreo,chacha and goodtime
5. Turn off the stove,and continuosly stir it until the steam is gone
6. Pour the pudding mixtue from the boiling pot into the cup,make sure to cover it
7. Put in the refrigerator for 5 minutes
8. Arrange chacha,oreo and goodtime that has already blended,into the mold,and pour
again the pudding mixture into the mold

HOW TO MAKE ICE LEMON TEA

Ingredients:

• 1 bag of Teabag
• 2 pieces of Lemon Orange
• 2 tsp of sugar
• 6 Ice Cubes
• 50 ml of hot water
• 150 ml of cold water

Steps:

1. Brewed Tea bag in 50 ml of hot water.

2. Add sugar, and then stir until evenly distributed.
3. Squeeze the lemon. Then, pour lemon juice into the tea.
4. Add ice cubes and add 150 ml of cold water.
5. Stir until the lemon juice mixes with the tea.
6. Add lemon slices as decoration.
7. Ice Lemon Tea is ready to be served.

Ingredients:

- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- ½ cup of butter
- ¾ cup of brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
