Setelah mengikuti serangkaian kegiatan pembelajaran melalui pendekatan Scientific
Approach dan model Problem-Based Learning tentang teks prosedur tulis berbentuk
resep makanan/minuman sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya siswa dapat:
1. Mengidentifikasi fungsi social, dan struktur teks dari teks prosedur tulis berbentuk
resep makanan/minuman sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya
2. Menganalisis unsur kebahasaan dari teks prosedur tulis berbentuk resep
makanan/minuman sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya
3. Membandingkan fungsi social, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan dari beberapa teks
prosedur tulis berbentuk resep makanan/minuman sesuai dengan konteks
penggunaannya

E. MATERI PEMBELAJARAN
Definition of procedure text ( recipe ) is a text that explains or helps us how to make ( cook)
something. For example “ How To Make Fried Rice “, “ How To make Sandwiches” ,
How To Make Ice Cream” , etc.
The social function of recipe
▪ Recipe is used to describe how food is completely made or cooked through a
sequence of series.
Generic structure of recipe
▪ Goal / Aim
This text containts about purpose of making something.
▪ Material or Ingredient
Material consist of ingredients that are used in making something.
▪ Step/Methods
Contains the steps or sequences that must be done so that the objectives outlined in
the aim/goal to be achieved. Steps or sequences must be a sequence from the first to
the last.
Language Feature of Recipe
Noun or noun groups is a word that functions as the name of some spesific
thing or set of things. Noun or noun groups in recipe are used in the listed
materials or equipment. For example bowl, rice, glass, etc.
Conjunctions is a word to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words
in the same clause. Conjunctions in recipe are used to show chronogical
order. For instance before, while, then,
after, etc.
Action verbs is a verb that expresses an action. For example; cut, mix, stir,
put, etc.
Imperatives. An imperative sentence gives a command. For example: add
some sugar, mix the ingredients, cut the onion.
Adverbial is word or phrase functioning like an adverb. There are two types
of adverbial that are commonly used in recipe. First is adverbial of sequence
which is used to add detail information about the sequence. For example first,
second, finally, then, etc. In addition, another adverbial is used to express
detail of the time, manner, or place. For Example: for five minutes, for an
hour, in three minutes.
Vocabulary that is commonly used in recipe ranges from technical to
everyday language according to the target of language.
Language The language in recipe is supposed to be clear and precise.

Present tense is generally used in recipe.

Ingredients:
• 1 ripe black-skinned plantain or 4 small finger banana (make sure that the
banana is sweet)
• 1 tsp. sugar
• 1 egg
• 6 tbs. flour
• a pinch of salt
• water
• vegetable oil for deep frying
Steps/ Instruction:
1. Place flour in a deep mixing bowl. Make a well in the middle of the flour, and
add egg, sugar and salt. Add water little by little. Whisk vigorously until batter is
evenly smooth for coating and not too thin. If it is too thin, add more flour.
2. Peel plantain or banana and cut in half lengthwise and then cut again with 4-
inch width. Dip into batter to coat generously.
3. Heat oil in a wok or deep fryer until moderately hot. Place coated plantain or
banana in the wok or deep fryer and fry slowly until golden brown and crispy.
This usually take approximately 10-15 minutes. Remove bananas from oil, drain
on paper napkins and dry well.
4. Serve while still warm

HOW TO MAKE ICE LEMON TEA
Ingredients:
• 1 bag of Teabag
• 2 pieces of Lemon Orange
• 2 tsp of sugar
• 6 Ice Cubes
• 50 ml of hot water
• 150 ml of cold water

- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- ½ cup of butter
- ¾ cup of brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2⅓ cups of mashed overripe bananas
Steps:
1. Firstly, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2. Secondly, lightly grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan using melted butter.
3. Thirdly, in a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream
together butter and brown sugar, then add it to the flour mixture.
4. Fourthly, stir in the eggs and mashed bananas until they are both well blended.
5. Fifthly, stir in the banana mixture into the flour mixture just to moisten.
6. Sixthly, pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
7. Seventhly, bake the batter in a preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick
inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
8. Lastly, let the finished bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire
rack. Once it isn’t hot anymore, the banana bread is ready to be served.
