What is exposition text?

Exposition text is a type of writing that explains knowledge or information based on facts to
convince the audience or interlocutor. The information in this text is generally conveyed
briefly, clearly, concisely, but still accurately .

Types of Exposition Text

 Analytical Exposition

The first type is analytical exposition . So, analytical exposition is an exposition text
that begins with a statement from the author to show their attitude and position in responding
to an issue or theme that will be discussed.

 Hortatory Exposition

If analytical exposition begins with the author's statement, then hortatory exposition is a
type of exposition text that begins with a statement in the form of a current or viral issue to
be used as the theme of the article .

Coclution:
Hortatory is similar to analytical exposition but if we have to differentiate both from one to
each other, we have one useful tool by making analysis on the generic structure. What
makes hortatory different from analytical exposition is the last finalizing step which
analytical exposition is ended by a reiteration while hortatory is finalized by certain a
recommendation.
