Akar dan Batang Wortel

Wortel memiliki perakaran tunggang yang

berbentuk tombak, memiliki pangkal akar,
ujung akar, batang akar dan cabang akar.
Sistem perakaran pada wortel yaitu tunggang

Akar dan serabut yang menjadi satu. Saat akan

tunggang yang dimilikinya termodifikasi

wortel menjadi umbi akar (tuber rhizogenum), fungsi

lain dari akar sebagai tempat penimbunan
makanan, Umbi wortel berbentuk bulat panjang
dan langsing, berwarna kuning kemerah-
merahan karena mengandung karoten
(provitamin A) yang sangat tinggi.
01 Akar

Sementara akar serabutnya ini menempel pada

umbi akarnya ini. Akar serabut inilah yang
memiliki fungsi unuk menyerap unsur hara dan
air yang diperolukan oleh tanaman wortel. Akar
serabut ini tumbuhnya tidak kebawah tetapi
menyamping, sedangkan bagian tanaman yang
tumbuh kebawah adalah umbi akarnya.

 Wortel memiliki batang yang berukuran sangat pendek
sehingga tidak terlalu tampak. Batangnya berbentuk
bulat, tidak berkayu, agak keras dan memiliki diameter
sekitar 1 – 1,5 cm. Batangnya ini biasanya berwarna
hijau tua. Batang wortel ini tidak bercabang, tetapi
terdapat tangkai-tangkai daun yang menjadikan
seolah-olah batangnya ini bercabang-cabang.

Batang Walaupun berukuran pendek, batang yang ada pada

wortel ini memiliki fungsi yang sama seperti pada

Wortel tanaman lainnya yaitu untuk mengangkut air da unsur

hara dari tanah ke daun serta zat makanan hasil
fotosintesis dari daun ke seluruh bagian tubuh
tanaman. Oleh karena itu, di dalam batang wortel kita
dapat menemukan jaringan pembuluh angkut
