ABSTRAK
Penelitian pengembangan materi ajar ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan rancangan materi
ajar teks deskriptif berbasis budaya lokal guna mendukung pembelajaran memahami teks tanggapan
deskriptif siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan. (2)
mendeskripsikan tingkat validitas isi materi ajar menulis teks deskriptif berbasis budaya lokal pada
pembelajaran memahami teks tanggapan deskriptif siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja
berdasarkan validasi ahli. (3) mendeskripsikan hasil uji coba efektivitas materi ajar menulis teks deskriptif
berbasis budaya lokal pada pembelajaran memahami teks tanggapan deskriptif siswa kelas VII di SMP
Negeri 1 Singaraja berdasarkan hasil uji coba lapangan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah ahli isi materi ajar,
guru mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia, siswa kelas VII A3 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, dan siswa kelas VII
A4 SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja. Objek penelitian ini adalah materi ajar teks deskriptif. Prosedur penelitian ini
mengadaptasi prosedur penelitian dari Borg dan Gall. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data
dalam penelitian ini adalah dokumentasi, observasi, wawancara dan angket. Teknik analis data penelitian
ini menggunakan teknik kualitatif dan kuntitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) materi ajar
dirancang sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013 dan dilandasi oleh budaya lokal Buleleng, (2) tingkat validitas
materi ajar berada pada kualifikasi baik, dan (3) efektifitas materi ajar dalam tahap uji lapangan tergolong
sangat baik.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research was (1) described the plan of teaching material in writing the
descriptive text based on local culture by the lesson to understands descriptive responding text of
seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Singaraja based on needed analyses. (2) Described the validity of
teaching material in writing descriptive text based on local culture by the lesson to understand descriptive
responding text of seventh grade students of SMP N 1 Singaraja based on validation expert. (3) Describe
the result of experiment to effectiveness of teaching material in writing descriptive text based on local
culture by the lesson to understand descriptive responding text of seventh grade students of SMP N 1
Singaraja based on the result of real experiment. Subject of this research was teaching material expert,
Indonesian language teacher, students of VII A3 SMP N 1 Singaraja, and students of VII A4 SMP Negeri
1 Singaraja. Subject of this research was teching material descriptive text. Research procedure in this
research was adapting the research procedure by Borg and Gall. Research method that the researcher
used to collect the data in this research was documentation, observation, interview and questionnaire.
The analyzed data the researcher used two kinds of data, there was qualitative and quantitative. Result of
this research showed that (1) teaching material was planned in appropriate with 2013 curriculum and
based on local culture of Buleleng, (2) validity level of teaching material was good qualification, and (3)
effectiveness of teaching material at real experiment process was excellent. Based on the result of
researched, teaching material of descrivtive text based on local culture was very effective to use for
understanding descriptive respon text because of excellent qualification after real research.
