ABSTRACT
This research was conducted because the researcher still had doubt about the
effectiveness of modeling techniques in career planning for students. Therefore,
this study aims to determine the effectiveness of modeling techniques in career
planning for students.
This research employed a quasi experimental design and used nonequivalent
control group design. The population of this study was all class XII students with
a sample of two classes as the control class i.e class XII IPA 2 and class XII IPS
3, and of two classes as the experimental class i.e. class XII IPA 1 and XII IPS 2.
The sample was determined using Cluster Random Sampling. The data collection
used a career planning scale. Requirements test used normality test to show that
the samples were taken from a population with normal distribution, and the
homogeneity test was used to test the regression model inequalities of residual
variance occurring among observations. Hypothesis test used two-way analysis of
variance (ANOVA) was used to test multiple sample groups involving multiple
classifications and Tukey HSD test to compare all the averages of pairs of
treatment after the variance analysis test was carried out.
The results of the study showed that the modeling techniques were effective
in career planning for students. Class XII IPA 1 (experimental group 1) and class
XII IPA 2 (control group 1), based on the analysis of variance (ANOVA) test,
obtained F = 33.362 with p = 0.000 (p=0.000<p=0.05). Then based on Tukey
HSD test with a Tukey HSD value of 6.439, the mean difference was 24.243>
6.439 (pre-test and post-test of experimental group 1) and the mean difference
was 8.757> 6.439 (post-test of experimental group 1 and post-test of control group
1). Whereas class XII IPS 2 (experimental group 2) and class XII IPS 3 (control
group 2), based on the analysis of variance test (ANOVA), obtained a value of F =
14.468 with p = 0.000 (p=0.000<p=0.05). Then based on the Tukey HSD further
test with a HSD Tukey value of 7.098, the mean difference was 15.536> 7.098
(pre-test and post-test of experimental group 2) and the mean difference was
7.929> 7.098 (post-test of experimental group 2 and post-test of control group 2).
Because sig. ≤ 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.
